Chapter Two - Back on Relief and the Birth of My Third Son 8/25/2009 to 11/5/2009

Well from this point on I will be subject to relieving post on regular officers days off, vacations, or training.    This chapter will be about post SSU lockup issues, family matters, officer suicide, outside hospital duty, inmate misdirection issues, prison riots and will end with the birth of my third son, and family maternity leave and also the entry of a new Democrat Warden at KSP.

BACK ON RELIEF ON 8/25/2009

Article 8/25/2009 - State to rebuild Northpoint Training Center after riot.
More on Northpoint Training Center riot.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2009 up at 2:00 a.m. for Kitchen 4-12 and left at 3:00 and at KSP at 3:42.
On post at 3:55, with 22 kitchen workers to radio to the Control Center.    A 1st Early officer came in at 4:00 and I wondered why he was here so early.    He said Ramadan.    They went to get the Ramadan inmates at 4:18 and then 16 of them came into the kitchen.
Chow out to the cellhouses while they ate at 4:28 and when they were done they went out at 4:47 and called a 5:00 count in.
88 PC's were in at 5:05, sent pill call and annex trays out at 5:35 and trays started coming back by 5:38.
Called a 5:55 count in and at 6:00 70 PI inmates in to eat and out at 6:26 and the yard opened at 6:30 and 266 GP's in at 6.35 and cleared by 7:17.
GP Lockup at 7:46 and I went on break for pancakes and trays were back from the annex at 7:30.
A CTO came to talk to Aramark about a segregation unit complaint about the Kool-Aid being too watered down.    My day was easy until the tools cleared at 8:45 and escorted the slop to the slop dock at 8:55, and the Supply Truck came at 9:10.
At 9:40 chow was ready to go to 6 C/H and PI/7 C/H and 10:15 to 3 cellhouse, and annex at 9:43.
PC Lockup at 9:50, and the yard opened at 10:12 and I processed the AM K/Ws out and at 10:30 the PM K/Ws in and was relieved at 11:00 and did the GP Pill Line by 11:07.
I went to the Shift Captain office to ask him about when firearms training would be and why not in October for my new baby, and he said it is in September for me.
So I went out the Front Gate at 11:20 to go relieve the Tower but she yelled down that she did not want one.    So I walked to receivers basement office and the new Network Analyst II was working on their Dell computer and ordered some uniforms and chatted for a while.    Then walked to the Front Gate to clock out at 12:00.
They are having a retirement party for the Warden tomorrow, but I will not be there.
I got home at 12:45, checked emails and by 1:30 asleep on the futon.
I woke up at 3:00 and Michael was here by 3:45, and watched the news at 5:00.
I made scrambled eggs, English muffins, sliced tomatoes for supper and cleaned up and washed the dishes then out to water the tomatoes and back to shave and shower by 7:30.    Watched "AGT," Ethan down at 8:24 and TV until 10:00 and was off to bed.

Article 8/26/2009 - State police searching for Central Kentucky prisoner.
This affects the Kentucky Marion Adjustment Center prison.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2009 up at 4:30 and prepared all I needed to take a trip to Franklin with Ethan today.    Amy was up at 5:30 and Ethan at 6:20, and she left for work at 6:30.
I got Michael on the bus by 6:50, and fed Ethan and got everything packed and ready to go by 7:15.    Now waiting for Ethan to poop before I leave.
We left at 7:35, went to get $20 worth of gas at $2.40 a gallon and then to town for a paper before leaving at 8:00.    I called my mother to let her know we are on our way, and we made it to Franklin at 10:15 and unloaded the car.
It took a while for Ethan to acclimate to my parents and his grandparents.    Also my Aunt Ruby came by to visit.    My mother made us lunch and Ethan liked his peaches, chicken, tater tots, mac&cheese, and cake, and we were done by 12:00.
I let him play, changed him and he went down for a nap at 1:30.
I got him up at 3:30 so we could leave at 4:15 to go to Wal-Mart and then to meet Bob's family at Cracker Barrel at 5:00 for a meal.
My brother Bob, Sandy, Candie, Elizabeth Ann, Stephanie and Jaden came and we had a party of 10 with us 4 and we had a really good meal.    I took pictures of us all.
We left and returned to my parents' house at 6:25 and packed up the car.
Ethan and I went to my brother's house to visit at 7:00 and I let him play until 8:00 and then we said goodbyes and headed home.
I made it home by 10:15 and put Ethan in his bed, and then unloaded the car, and I was in bed by 10:30 and asleep by 11:00.

On Thursday, August 27, 2009 up at 5:21 and checked my email and Amy was awake and got Ethan up and he was into everything.   He turned the cat food bag over onto the floor.    So I had to sweep that up, and then he pooped to be changed.    Amy was off today and went to take a shower at 6:25.    I put Ethan down for a nap at 7:00.    She got Michael up and drove him to school at 7:30.
Amy has an 8:30 ultrasound this morning and we left with her at 8:00 to go to WBH at 8:30 to Building 3, 5th Floor and in to wait.    Ethan was entertained by the fish in the aquarium, and called them "shish" since he has not got the "fa" sound out yet.    He could say bubbles.
We went in and they did the 4D ultrasound done and the baby got a good showing and Amy thinks he looks just like Ethan.    I got a medical release from the OB doctor so I can take off in the October 21st birth for two weeks.
We left after Amy had her doctors visit and went to McDonalds for some breakfast to go.    Ethan fell asleep in his car seat.
We went to the DayCare so Amy could show everyone the Ultrasound pictures, and we left and I got a paper on the way home by 11:00.
I went to put $30 gas in my car and then to the ATM for grocery money.    When I got back Amy left to do grocery shopping and Ethan was up by 12:00 and I watched the news and started the upgrade to Windows Vista Ultra to Service Pak 2, but got a message about "missing KB 967792" some driver issue.    So I stopped it until Microsoft releases a fix of Service Pak 2 upgrade.
Ethan went back down at 1:00, and I ate some lunch.    I called my post at 1:45 and not on outside rec, but in 3 cellhouse.
Amy was back at 2:30, and I unloaded it and put it away.    Burned the trash and got stuff ready to go to work tomorrow.    I cut up some cantaloupe that my dad gave me from his garden in the backyard.    I watched the news at 5:00 and it was 94 degrees outside and Ethan was up and Amy cooked bacon and made BLT's with our homegrown tomatoes for supper.    We ate and I cleaned up and took a shower at 7:20 and it was a laid back night.

Article 8/28/2009 - Torched prison did not have sprinkler systems.
This affects Kentucky prison Northpoint Training Center.

On Friday, August 28, 2009 up at 4:10 on payday with high in 80's and at KSP and I am in 3 cellhouse on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and on relief on Monday, and they only had 1 on outside rec and only 1 Float today so the Sergeant will have to fill in and the yard is short to send one for outside rec.
On way to 3 cellhouse the Lt sent me to 11/12 Left and on post at 7:03 with 20/19=39 a full house.    I did rounds, count and slip in and made a rec list.
Count cleared at 7:20 and let my janitor out at 7:23, and then started rec on 11 Left at 7:31 and phone calls, with 14 out and got all but one done by 8:31.
Then 12 Left out at 8:36 and finished those 12 calls by 9:23, and when they went up and got the remaining calls done by 10:00 and unlocked the tray slots, and waited for medical pill call which never happened and found out that they will not come at lunch anymore.
I helped them secure the outside rec by 10:20.
I served Chow to both walks by 10:50, and sat and ate a tray, and then went to get trays off with the Lt helping by 11:15.
At 11:45 we moved inmates to different walks due to ACU and updated paperwork, then let the walkman out at 12:10.
I got 11L-5 an NTC inmate out to go to IA, and then 3 NTC inmates to go to reclass at 12:55, then had to do a Legal call for 11R-8 and between all that the walkman was done and showered at 1:45.    I finished security checks and rounds and count, and count call in was delayed to 2:30 today and it was cleared by 2:41, and showered and secured my janitor at 2:45, turned in gear and keys and relieved and in 3 C/H Sat-Sun, relief on Mon, and o/s rec on Tuesday.
To the Bank to deposit my check and then to the Post Office to mail of the Mortgage payment and utility bills.
I picked up Ethan up at Dennis' and home by 4:00, and let him watch his shows, and he went down at 4:40.    I watched the news at 5:00 and Michael came in to get stuff he needed to stay overnight with a friend.
Amy called at 5:30 and said she was going to consignment sales looking for a double stroller.
I made myself a light supper, and Ethan was up at 6:10 and fed him, Amy home at 6:45.    I showered by 7:00 and we had a hard rain come in and it was a mellow night and Ethan got a bath and we all were out by 10:00.

Article 8/29/2009 - Legislators oppose prison contract.
This affects Otter Creek private prison.

On Saturday, August 29, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP in 3 cellhouse again.
In the Upper Cage and on post at 7:03, and keys and restraints to the walks and after explaining to all 3 new officers to go on for rounds and do a count, and then give me a count slip, and then do a rec list and they did and I got that to the Lower Cage by 7:15.
We got 6 out for the mini-gym by 7:23, then started the inside rec on 12 Left, 13 Left and 11 Right by 7:30.
I secured all of them by 8:30.    Then started the next rec groups by 8:43 and all of them secured by 9:43.
Chow was on the walks by 10:10 and served by 10:35, and trays off by 10:46, and we finished any phone calls on 12 Right by 11:10.     At 11:48 the walk officers went on to hand out Canteen to the inmates and it was all done by 12:35, and 13 Left was still out of rec.
At 12:07 the Lt and Sgt went on all walks to do a Book Head Count, which had been cancelled when the NTC inmates were brought in last Saturday, and it was done by 12:30.
I got the walkman out at 12:36 and let 13 Left last rec group out at 1:08 to 2:08, and secured all walkman by 2:25 and count slips in and we got Signal-14 cleared by 2:29, secured all janitors by 2:43 and keys and restraints in and relieved at 3:03.    I see that they finally put a relief officer on SSU for Sun-Mon so I am officially off death row now.    It has taken months for that to happen.    I heard today that officer Futureconflict had trouble doing the overrides on G-Walk.    I laughed since this morning I told him how you have to do it.    Obviously he did not listen to me.
I made it home by 3:45, as Ethan had just gone down for a nap.    Amy fell asleep at 4:45 and I watched some TV.
Later when she was up she blew up on me again over petty things and went on for hours.    Ethan was awake at 6:00 and Amy fed him, while I washed the dishes, then took the solid trash to Dennis.'
Amy gave Ethan a bath and then left with him to go to the store at 7:35.    I showered by 8:00 and watched TV.
The Network Analyst I job was posted today, so I went through the hassle of filling out the application, halfway, or I did what I could and wanted too.    They wanted too much information.    I gave them a cover letter and my website resume, etc., etc.
I do not think I will get the job because there are probably hundreds of Network Administrators looking for work in this economy.    My present job is secure until I retire.    I finished it as Amy and Ethan got home at 9:00.
I got Ethan to go to sleep by 10:00 with me, and he slept through the night.

On Sunday, August 30, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP and saw and dodged many deer, fox and raccoon on my drive in this morning.
The newsletter had four officers who were terminated:
One of them was going on disability it was officer PTSD, no love lost there.
Another one was a good officer who while working the Trash Truck and at the dumpsite had an inmate in the trash compactor and he turned it on for a joke.    Of course this back fired on him as the inmate filed a grievance on him and they pulled him off the Sally Port post.
We have 9 new OJTs going through training now.
The Warden retires tomorrow and we still do not know who will be replacing him.    We suspect that Deputy Warden Alan Brown will be acting Warden for the time being.
Lieutenant Holeytimber sent me to 11/12 Left and a new officer to the Upper Cage, as well as new officer on the walks that have never even been in 3 cellhouse.
On post at 7:03, count is 20/19=39, rounds, count to Upper Cage at 7:11, and a rec list by 7:17 and count clear at 7:20 and got two janitors out at 7:30.
I let 7 out of rec on 11 Left at 7:32 and no issues and put them up at 8:32 and did rounds and security checks.
Then let 12 Left 8 of them out at 8:37 and I have helped the Upper Cage today to get it done and put them up at 9:37, and opened the tray slots and chow came and I served it by 10:30, and got trays off by 10:55.
The yard had a lockup and was escorting him over and the only open cell was on 12R-4 and I went out for a break at 11:05 and I was asked to pick up and extension order in the Shift Captain's office.    I said I would and did on my way back at 11:25.
At 11:57 let the walkman out and did my rounds and security checks and showered him by 1:30 and did my count and closed for a boring day and relieved.    I was on 7 wallstand on Monday.
I went to the Post Office to drop mail in the box, then to the Minit Mart, and then to Dollar General to get boxes out of their dumpster for my burn barrel ashes and home by 4:00.
Ethan was up and playing and Amy started nagging me again so I went outside.    She brought Ethan out to me in the backyard to play at 4:45.    When I went in Amy made supper, we ate and I cleaned up the dishes and burned the trash by 6:50.
An officer who works on midnight shift called me to see if I could fix his girlfriends HP computer.    He wants me to wipe it clean and reinstall, and will bring it to work Tuesday so I can pick it up to my car.    Amy started in on me again.    I just sat and listened, avoiding an argumental contest.    Michael came home, and put Ethan down at 8:00.    I showered by 8:40 and called it a night.
Amy came in and wanted to talk, but it was all about what I have to do to make this marriage work.    She says she has high cholesterol and is having repeating dizzy spells and is concerned.    The talk went nowhere and ended up with just ultimatums and threats.
I went to bed and asleep at 10:00.

I TRIED TO HELP THE NEW SSU OFFICER WITH A DOCUMENT AND HE WROTE ME UP ON AN INFORMATION REPORT
On Monday, August 31 2009 up at 4:10 on a cool morning in the mid 50's with a high of 77 today and I left home at 5:30 and drove to the Minit Mart off of Exit 45 and sat there to read the paper.    I am on 7 wallstand today and after 3 days in 3 cellhouse it is a vacation.    I call it Hotel 7 because it is the nicest wallstand of them all.    And sometimes I call it the ant farm because from there the inmates look like ants in one of the ant farms.
I drove to 7 wallstand by 6:50 and went up to relieve the officer and did my inventories and settle in for the day.
I have a group of outside inmates doing landscaping and mowing between 5 and 7 wallstand.    The Trash Truck made its rounds at 7:20 and the yard processed Voc/Acad to PI and at 7:32 they sent an officer to 3 cellhouse for an hour.
GP Lockup at 7:40, SSU to the Legal Office at 7:47, and PCs Let-out at 7:50 and a Sergeant escorted an inmate to 3 cellhouse at 7:55.
We had the new OJTs come in today.    So at 8:20 we heard on the radio that someone is entering 6 wallstand, so it is probably Special Security.    Transportation is getting an inmate out of 5 cellhouse for a trip.
I could see 3 PI inmates go behind the Garment Plant where they have a garden growing and picking peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes off of it.
At 8:54 I could see Special Security entering 5 wallstand.
At 8:58 a PI instructor called me and said he would be having a group of PI inmates coming to the garden area.    I told him that 3 inmates had already been out there and have left.    He said no one should have been out there yet.
I could see the Special Security Sergeant leaving 5 wallstand and headed my way at 9:07 as the transport state Van went by.    He came up into the wallstand at 9:10 to inspect and left by 9:15.
I bought a carton of Pyramid 100s Lights Blue with tax for $28.61 to try them out.    They seem to be as good as the Marlboro 100s Lights which cost me $40.80 a carton, so I saved $12.19.
At 9:44 the yard was clearing for PCs, SSU to 6 cellhouse, and PC Lockup at 9:40 and cleared at 9:51.
Chow to the cellhouses at 10:10, processing PI to 4 wallstand gate at 10:11 and GP Let-out was at 10:15.
We heard an alarm going off and looked all around and it turned out to be a car alarm went off on a jaguar in the Auto Body shop.    Gave us a scare for a minute.    I made my lunch and ate.
At 10:49 Lieutenant Obnoxious drove up to 7 wallstand and wanted me to lower my bucket.    He gave me my August Evaluation from my Evaluator who was gone.    He wanted me to sign it.    I read it and at the top of it was a comment that, "Officer Cornwell did not document something correctly."    I asked the Lieutenant what that was about.    He said it was about you changing the time sheets on SSU.    It had to do with the regular SSU officer X'ing out 5 days of work on William Meece and Ralph Baze who were painters.    Where I could see that the officer assumed that since they are not painting every day that they do not get paid.    So I changed it.    Both inmates clean cell bars, clean empty cells, clean the vent room and vents when required.    Officer Futureconflict (now you see why I named him that) called me in the Kitchen last week and I explained the above to him in detail.    Apparently the UA told him to do it.    I told him that if he does those two inmate will file a grievance against him over that.    Of course he is trying to get a Sergeant position.
I sent the document down to him signed and complained to the Lieutenant about why that was on my Evaluation this soon on my Evaluation?    He said it just so we can learn from it.    I said then that is telling me never to tell an officer he made a mistake any more or help him.
I called Shift Captain about my comp days for Sept. 5th and 6th.    He said he would get back to me on it.
Kitchen worker let-in at 11:31, and GP Let-in/out at 12:15.
The Shift Captain JayJ called me back at 12:35 that I can get you off on Sunday the 6th, but he would have to work me on 2nd Early on the 5th, which gets me off on the 5th at 1:45.    The reason that is a holiday weekend and already had approval for 23 taking off, and he said on the 7th I would be on 3 wallstand.    I told him thank you for that.
I asked him if I had an information report turned in on me.    He said yes.    I said I was just trying to help the officer out.    He told me don't worry about it, it is not a big deal.    I have a lot of respect for Captain JayJ who has always told me the way it is.
At 1:05 they began processing the PI to the yard.    I called the Front Gate officer and he said I was on 3 cellhouse instead of o/s rec with only one female on it.
GP Lockup at 2:12 and yard cleared at 2:16 and Signal-14 cleared at 2:29, and relieved.
I got home by 3:35 and Dennis had come over to mow the yard with his riding mower, so I only had to do the touch up and weed eating by 6:00.
Amy made supper, I cleaned up by 7:15, then to the ATM, and back to shave and shower by 8:15 and put Ethan down by 8:20, and watched some of the U.S. Open Tennis.    I am still teed off about the evaluation and information report and will get a copy of it, etc. tomorrow.    Amy has been in a better mood today and nicer to me and I was asleep by 10:00.

I BUSTED A SEGREGATION INMATE MOVING STAMPS DURING INSIDE RECREATION IN A RESTRICTED AREA
On Tuesday, September 1, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP and the officer left his computer and monitor in his car and I got it out and then realized he forgot the keyboard.    I called him and he said he would bring it on Monday.    I talked with Lieutenant Obnoxious about the Evaluation and he clarified it for me.
To 3 cellhouse and I am on 11/12 Right and on post at 7:02, count 20/19=39, did the usual routine and by 7:35 I got 12 Right 15 inmates out for rec.
They are doing Walk-ins on 13/14 Right and done by 8:20 and I sent the janitor to get me some hot water for coffee.    Secured my rec at 8:35, did rounds and security checks and when I looked behind the ventilation vent at the end of the walk of 12 right I saw a folded up white paper.    I picked it up and opened it.    It had a bunch of stamps in it and writing on the paper.    I came off at 8:39 after handing out Canteen sheets and went to the 3 cellhouse Lieutenant's office.    He looked at it and said do an information report.    I went back to my desk and let 13 inmates on 11 Right out for rec at 8:53.    While I was trying to do the information report I could see several inmates at the end of the walk looking behind the ventilation vent.    At 8:53 inmate [name withheld] was sitting on the floor at the end of the walk reaching behind the ventillation vent.    I got up and yelled down the walk for him to come up here.
He did and I asked him, "Why were you reaching behind the vent which is in a restricted area."    He denied it.    I told him his rec was terminated and sent him back to his cell.    He obeyed.
Now I have to do two information reports and a write up.    I finished doing that during the rec, and put them up at 9:53, and then made rounds and unlocked tray slots.
Chow on at 10:10 and served by 10:30 with a Float helping me.    I got trays off by 10:55.
At 11:10 hooked up the inmate in 11R-18 to be escorted to Medical and picked up all the Canteen sheets and gave them to the Float at 11:47.
I made a round at 11:55 and then let the walkman out but had to put him up to do 3 legal calls which I completed by 12:20, and the Sergeant went on for write ups and the Medical inmate returned and secured and got the walkman out at 12:50.    I did my count at 1:55 and showered and secure the walkman at 2:10 and closed and I am off Wed-Thur, in 3 c/h Friday, COMP day Saturday and 2nd Early Sunday.
I got home by 3:50 and Amy was not home, checked email and she came in at 4:00 and I took Ethan to the backyard to play since the weather was nice.
We came in at 5:00 and I watched the news, Amy made supper, we ate, cleaned up, and Amy cut my hair and I shaved and showered by 7:30.
I called a female that I knew who was on the Committee of my 40th High School Reunion to find out what the agenda was.    She said they have a disco system playing music from the 60's up.    They will have food and a bar for those who want it.    They will be taking a class picture and she said presently we have 63 persons attending.
Amy was doing homework with Michael and Ethan was with me in the bedroom watching "AGT" until I put him down at 8:40 and I was out by 10:00.

Article 9/2/2009 - Autopsy: Inmate died from heat in outdoor holding cell.

Article 9/2/2009 - Ex-officer at prison charged with rape.
This affects a correctional officer at Otter Creek prison.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2009 up at 5:30 and Amy was up and I went to town at 5:50 to get a paper and back at 6:10.    Ethan was awake, and got Michael up and Amy left for work at 6:30.    I had to crack the whip to get Michael moving to get ready for the bus and he piddled around.    The bus came 4 minutes early and went by without honking.    So I got both boys in the car and drove down to the subdivision entrance to get him on the bus.
I drove to the Minit Mart to get gas and a powerball ticket.    The car at the pump next to me could not get their car to turnover.    So I gave him a jump and made it home by 7:15.
Ethan watched his shows and I fed him.    He finally wore down and went for a nap at 8:30.
I noticed that Michael's patch was in the bathroom.    So when Ethan wakes up I will have to take it to him at school.    I updated my budget and got the water bill, auto insurance and life insurance payments ready to mail.
Ethan was up at 12:30 and being a little pill.    By the time I changed him, fed him it was too late for me to take the patch to Michael.
I watched U.S. Open Tennis for most of the afternoon, and put away clothes that had dried on the rack and washed dishes.    Ethan played for a while and watched his shows.    I fed him and he went back down for a nap at 3:35, and Michael must have got off the bus at Dennis'.    I worked on some website files, and did some research on specific items.
Ethan was back up at 4:45, and changed a poopy diaper, the first one today.    Gave him a bottle and watched the news at 5:00.
Amy will not get home until 6:30 as she has to go pick up a rental car for her Thursday trip.
I made us supper mac&cheese with tuna in it, steamed broccoli and onions, baked beans and pears around 5:40 and she was here at 6:20, we ate and cleaned up by 7:15.
I watched "AGT" from 8-9 and put Ethan down at 8:43 and watch Tennis after 9:00 and out by 10:00.

On Thursday, September 3, 2009 up at 4:30 and Amy was up at 5:00 so she could be at work at 5:45 for her trip to Bowling Green for a conference.    I got Michael up at 6:00 to get him on the bus on time, and Ethan was up at 7:30.
I made us some breakfast and cleaned up.    I left with Ethan at 8:30 and went to the Bank, then to town to get a paper and to Wal-Mart for bananas, milk and some COMP books, and returned home by 9:30.
I gave Ethan a banana and he played and watched his shows until I put him down at 10:30.
I worked on my website files and watched U.S. Open Tennis at 12:00.
At 1:45 I called my post and still in 3 cellhouse.    Ethan was up at 2:40 and I took a break from what I was doing at 3:40 and took him outside to play in the backyard and burned the trash.    We went back inside at 4:15 and I vacuumed the entire house and got my uniform ready by 5:00 and watched the news.
I made supper for Ethan and I by 6:00 and Amy called at 6:30 and said she was picking up Michael to go to town for prescription and other things.    Ethan finally had his big poop for the day and let him play and put him down by 8:10 and I shaved and showered by 8:15 and called it a night at 10:00.

    This affects Kentucky prisons.

On Friday, September 4, 2009 up at 4:10 and the full moon was out this morning but was a foggy morning at KSP and did not see the sun until 6:20.    I have been in 3 cellhouse 5 of my last 6 days of work, and I am on 2nd Early Saturday and off Sunday and Special Assignment on Monday instead of 3 wallstand.    We had 1 call-in in 3 cellhouse today.
I was sent to 11/12 Left today and on post at 7:03, count 20/19=39 and everything was delayed while they searched for a missing hand cuff.    I finally got on for rounds and did a count, rec list and count cleared by 7:20 and got 3 janitors out, before starting rec on 11 Left for 10 at 7:25, and did their phone calls and secured them at 8:25.    Did rounds and checks and got 12 Left out for rec at 8:33 and completed their calls and secured them at 9:35.    Unlocked slots by 9:42 and we had to wait for chow because 13 Left was still on outside rec.
I got chow on at 10:24 and served by 10:45, and had a tray and the Lt and I got trays off by 11:00.
At 11:06 the 13 Left officer radioed the 3 cellhouse Lieutenant that inmate Seizureprone was having a seizure and Medical was called.
I handed out classification notices at 11:30, and at 12:01 let my walkman out and of course at 12:05 the Sergeant went on for write-ups and secured him in the showers.    My walkman was inmate Daniel Gibson who escaped from KSR in 2004 while on a medical trip and was not restrained properly, and overpowered his guard, took his weapon, held him hostage and was on the run for 2 days before they caught him.    I secured him after his shower at 1:50 and did the closing routine.
Went to my car and the keyboard was on my windshield, and I left to go to the Post Office to get some stamps and mail one.    Home alone until Dennis brought Ethan over when he woke up and Amy was home at 5:50 and we made ham sandwiches for supper.
I started packing up what we needed for the trip on Saturday.
I looked at the HP Computer to see what was wrong with it and record system information.
I took a shower and got Ethan in bed at 8:40, watched Tennis until I fell asleep.

AT AGE 58 I WENT TO MY 40TH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION WITH MY YOUNG 34 YEAR OLD PREGNANT WIFE
On Saturday, September 5, 2009 up at 3:40 on a cloudy morning with the moon hazing through it and I packed all I need in my car and headed out at 4:30 and Amy will meet me at KSP at 1:45 p.m. when I get off so we can leave to go to Bowling Green, Ky.
At KSP and in to do 2nd Early 5:45-1:45 and on post which was open the Hospital again and did that at 6:10 for that routine.    At 6:17 the Yard Desk Sergeant called me and said I need to go to the 1st Floor at 7:00 and I would be relieved at 1:45 today.
They had to send an officer to relieve me in here because of a call-in at 6:55.    I went to the Bottom Door and waited for the shift change.
On 1st Floor at 7:03, count is 88, did rounds at 7:15 and had 6 want out at 8:00 let-out, and also finished security checks by 7:45.
Did the Let-out and LDS and I could hear on the radio the 6 Control officer on Channel 1 said, "The new rules on SSU now, when they come out for rec they stay out until rec is over."    I laughed and would bet that the SSU officer will be handing out greivance forms to SSU today.    I called her.    She said she was just joking.
I soon discovered that I had no moves on a Saturday and no officer brought me one.    I found out that I had 2 moves both moving to the 2nd Floor, and two from the 2nd Floor moving to their cells.    So I got the Entry/Exits forms done and the moves and updated roster and counts by 8:45.
GP Let-out at 9:58 and did the LDS.    I found out they relieved the 2nd Floor officer who was sick with the other 2nd Early officer.    I got relieved for a break at 10:30 and to the kitchen for a meal and returned at 11:00 and finished my security checks and made rounds and did GP Let-in/out at 12:15.
At 12:48 the 4 cellhouse officer called for a supervisor and medical to call.    I got a kitchen worker outcount of 6 at 12:58 and did my last round before relieved at 1:45.    They told me I got one moving into B-18 so I got that ready and revised the information for the next officer to finish.    I found out why this happened.    They locked up SSU Brian Moore for either a filthy cell or for not taking a shower.    So they had to clear a cell out in 3 cellhouse for him.    I was relieved and the roster had me off Sunday, but on Monday it changed from Special Assignment to 2 wallstand.
Amy was here when I came out and I got my stuff out of my car and we left at 2:00 after a stop at the Minit Mart on Exit 45.
We drove until we got to Exit 77 for a restroom stop and then drove on into Bowling Green and drove to the exit where our hotel was at 4:00 and checked in.    I had a coffee.
Amy and I will be leaving in a little while to drive around before going to the reunion which starts at 7:00.
We left at 5:00 and drove around Bowling Green through the Mall area, then towards town, around the bypass, then downtown, then around Western Kentucky University.    Then to a park and we got out to walk around for a while.
At 6:30 we drove to Ellis State Street Pub, which is owned by man I went to school with, and parked outside on the street.    We went in to use the bathroom and this is where the reunion was to be held.    Some of the Committee classmates were already here.    I introduced my wife Amy to them and they could obviously see that she was pregnant    I was sure that her age and the baby would be a topic of gossip for the night.    She did not know that one of them was a former female friend of mine.    The crowd came in by 7:00 and was packed and I mingled and talked old times with many of my alumni.    Amy was okay, they had finger foods, a bar and a disco player set for music set up.
Everyone was intrigued with me that I was a correctional officer at Kentucky State Penitentiary as if it was a big deal.
At 7:30 we all went across the street to have a class picture taken in front of a park fountain.    The night went on and it got a little boring for Amy I assume due to a generation gap.    She went walking because she got mad at me for not dancing with her on a certain song, even though I had asked her to dance several times.
At 10:19 I phoned her and she was at the square downtown.    I got in the car and drove to pick her up and we headed back to the hotel.    She went up to the room of the hotel first and locked me out of the room, then she came out and drove away in the car.    I went in the room and changed my clothes and later went down to make a coffee and she was coming back and went to the room.
On my way back up with a coffee she would not let me back into the room.    So here I am at 11:25 sitting in the lobby drinking a coffee and writing this.    I finally got her to let me in at 11:35 and managed to go to sleep by 12:00.

Article 9/6/2009 - Inmate death raises legal issue.
    This affects Kentucky prisons.

On Sunday, September 6, 2009 Amy woke me at 5:00 as she went out to get a soda and snack for the baby, and I went back to sleep until 6:00.
I got up and went down to the lobby for some coffee, and they had pastries but I did not want any and back to the room at 6:30.
Amy was trying to sleep and I went to the bathroom for a while, and then went out to get a newspaper at 7:00.    There were corvettes everywhere I looked.    Today is the day every year when 60,000 people converge on Bowling Green at this time to converge on the Corvette plant and the Corvette museum for their events.    I loaded the car up at 8:30 and we left the hotel and went to Cracker Barrel for a good breakfast.
We left at 9:30 and drove to Franklin to visit my mother and stay a while and then went to Bob's house to visit.
We were done with visits and went to get gas and left at 11:55 for home and stopped in Hopkinsville at Arby's for a Reuben sandwich combo, and then drove to KSP by 2:10.    I got my car and drove to Ledbetter and filled my tank for $2.35 a gallon and we both got there at 3:00 and I unloaded the cars.
I burned the trash and bagged the solid trash, and then went in and sat down at 3:30 to have a coffee, checked my emails, and watched U.S. Open Tennis.    Amy left to go get Ethan.    I called in my post and still on 2 wallstand on Monday Labor Day, but I have an OJT with me.
Amy got back with Ethan at 4:00 and we fed him.    I vacuumed Amy's car by 4:40, and we all went outside to play.
Amy made supper and we ate and cleaned up by 6:29.    I looked through my High School album to see who the 20 person's in my class that had died, plus to see what we looked like 40 years ago versus now.
I shaved and showered by 7:50, and put Ethan to bed at 8:10 and rested until I fell asleep at 10:00.

On Monday, September 7, 2009 up at 4:10 and Amy woke with a cramp in her left leg and Ethan woke up too.    I rubbed her cramp and then got ready for work and made some breakfast for us and left at 5:30 and drove to KSP to 2 wallstand at 6:50 and on post at 7:00.
It is Labor Day and not much going on at KSP, and they sent me the OJT up and had him read the Post Orders and showed him about all he needs to know in 30 minutes.
It was an uneventful day, and Special Security came up at 10:21 and asked if the OJT can make rounds with him since there is nothing else up here to learn.    So he did and was out by 10:28 and the rest of my day was so, so.
I called my post and on outside rec tomorrow, and relieved and made it home by 3:35, and Amy and the boys were gone.
They came home at 4:25 and had been shoe shopping for the boys.
At 5:00 we all went to the grandparent's house as Dennis' is grilling for the holiday and I helped him grill hamburgers and hotdogs and he and I had some beers and talked.
Amy had gotten bad news about Michael's cellphone replacement that she paid $50 for.    They are billing her for $218 more.
We all ate our Labor Day meal and I brought Ethan home with me at 7:00 and Amy and Michael at 7:10, and I showered by 7:35.
At 7:30 I started trying to fix the HP Pavilion computer for the officer.    I put the HP recovery disk in and let it do it for me.    I finished at 9:30, and only lack the applications.    I loaded it in my car and watched the news and then to bed.

SOME INSIDE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT CAUSED THE NORTHPOINT RIOT
On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 up at 4:10 and dodged 3 deer on my way to KSP.    I called KSP to talk to the officer who owned the computer.    And he said the truck was unlocked so I put his computer in it.    I spent two hours on it and charge $20 per hour so $40 charge.    We have 2 call-ins, 2nd Early and Outside Detail.    They are having firearms training for a group at 9:30, that will have to be relieved.    I went out to get the 3 cellhouse outside rec area ready and they brought 20 out at 7:24
I am scheduled for firearms training on Monday September 14 at 9:30.
At 8:01 they locked up a GP and escorted him to 3 cellhouse.
I was talking with one of the Northpoint inmates and asked him what he thought started the riot after the lockdown.    He said on that Friday they came out with a memo at 4:00 p.m. stating that starting Monday there would be Controlled Let-outs.    This meant certain dorms would be let out for one hour twice a week.    The yard was open to them all day previously.    This was not mentioned in the news.
They came to get the group at 8:29 and we locked all the cages except one for the next rec group of 1.    I went in and the other officer did the rec.
I will stay in 3 cellhouse until the 4 officers get back from the firing range and I relieved the Upper Cage at 9:50 and did whatever was coming and had a coffee.
Chow on the walks at 10:28, and served by 10:45 and trays off by 11:05.
At 11:25 I could hear the 7 cellhouse Lieutenant radio for Medical to come for a Move Team.
They got back and relieved me to the yard at 11:50, and I went to the Control Center for new battery, then to Personnel to get a FMLA form, and then to the yard at 12:00 to roam the yard the rest of the day and rang the bell at Lockup.
I found out that Sergeant Closetoretire is the new Lieutenant, and he will be retiring soon, and this also opens up a Sergeant spot.
I went home by 3:35, and Ethan was going strong, and Amy was on the phone trying so resolve the cellphone issue.    I watched the news at 5:00 and made us a pizza at 5:30 with salad, and we ate by 6:15 and cleaned up and changed Ethan by 7:10.
I worked on some of my files and watched "AGT" from 8:00 to 10:00, and we also with Ethan took him out at 8:10 to watch the International Space Station go by over our head at 8:15.    We could see two lights one at each end and it looked like it was 100's of feet long.    I found out later that the Space Shuttle Discovery was following it.    So it was not as long as I thought.    It will pass over again tomorrow night at 8:40.
I got Ethan ready and down for the night at 8:30 and myself later.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2009 up at 6:00 and I actually slept for 8 hours, must have needed it badly.    Amy left at 6:30 and I rushed to get Michael on the bus by 6:50 and Ethan still asleep, but was up at 8:10.    I changed him and gave him some milk and a banana.
We left to go to town at 8:30 to get a paper and powerball ticket, and returned at 9:00.
Ethan was ready for a nap at 10:45 and I updated my budget and other things.
Ethan woke up at 2:50 and Dennis came by to get Ethan so I could mow the yard.    I started at 3:30 and finished by 5:11 and showered by 5:25.    Dennis brought Ethan and Michael home and I sat and rested.
The phone rang and it was the Elementary School calling for Amy, and it was the principal.    She wanted me to have Amy call her on her cellphone.    I called Amy to call her and I could see her drive by the house to go to Dennis' house at 6:03.    Michael was here and I wondered what did Michael do now?    She returned and said apparently somebody at school was urinating all over the bathroom and on the toilet paper.    Somehow Michael was accused of it.
Amy brought some hamburgers home, so we heated them up for supper.
I watched the U.S. Open Tennis, and Amy started insulting me again.    I stood up and yelled back and said you stop insulting me I will not put up with that anymore.    Finished watching the Tennis until 8:00 and switched to watch "AGT" until 9:00, and off course Ethan and I and the rest of the family went out at 8:40 to watch the Space Station and Shuttle again.
I put Ethan down for the night at 8:50 and I was out by 10:00.

On Thursday, September 10, 2009 up at 5:45 and Amy up at 6:32 and Michael on the bus and I hit the bathroom before Ethan was up at 8:15.    Amy called and asked if I could bring her FMLA packet to her.
I got Ethan ready and left to go to the ATM, then to the Post Office to mail my credit card payment off, then to Minit Mart, then to town to get a paper and donuts, and last to drop her packet off at 9:10 and we returned home by 9:35.
We ate our donuts, and then let Ethan play and watch his shows, and he was ready to take a nap at 11:00, and was back up at 12:45.
I cut up some potatoes for home fries for supper, and called my post at 2:00.    I am still in 3 cellhouse.
We went out to the backyard to play and I got the wheelbarrow and rolled it to the tomato plants.    I pulled up our 9 tomato plants, and left the cherry tomato plants since its still getting ripe ones.
We went back in at 3:00.    I started cooking the home fries at 4:45, with steamed broccoli, corn and onions, and heated up some baked beans.
Amy called at 5:15 and said she is taking Michael to the Elementary school for a band meeting after 6:00.
So Ethan and I ate supper and did the dishes and done by 6:25.
I watched U.S. Open Tennis and the NFL Steelers vs Titans.    Michael brought home a drum set for the band, which cost $75 entry, and $58 per month for 3 months.    So now it got more noisy in the house.
I got up and shaved and a showered by 7:40, and Amy asked me to go fill her car up with gas so I did at 8:13, and Ethan went down at 8:40.    And I was out by 10:00.

Article 9/11/2009 - Stumbo proposes state takeover Otter Creek.
This affects Otter Creek private prison.

On Friday, September 11, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP with 2 call-ins, Visits and 3 C/H outside rec and I am still on inside Hospital on Saturday, 3 cellhouse on Sunday with a new Lt and Sgt, and Special Assignment on Monday with Firearms at 9:30.    The officer that I fixed his computer was on vacation so I will not get the $40 right away.    I brought my FMLA form to be off for two weeks using 80 hours of sick time for the Oct. 21st baby birth to Captain JayJ.
I was on the Upper Cage today and on post at 7:03 and keys and restraints to the walks and count slips to Lower Cage by 7:15, and count cleared by 7:22.    Got the janitors out at 7:24, and they hooked up inmates for outside rec and got them out and then let the inside recs out by 7:35 and some started phone calls and also did Walk-ins on 13 Left by 8:13.
All rec groups secured by 9:23 and did Walk-ins and overrides on 11/12 Right by 9:23 and all rec was secured by 10:10.
Chow on the walks by 10:20, served by 10:45, and trays off the walks by 10:56.
Got walkmans out on the walks to work and it was a laid back day in 3 cellhouse today.    Count slips in at 2:00 and closed.
On my way home and picked up Ethan at Dennis' and home by 4:00, and I checked my email and the state turned me down on the Network Analyst I post because I did not have enough experience they required.    I had already told the state to pull my resume because I would not do the job for $33K, I would only do it for an minimum of $48K, and I told him that no Network Administrator who knows what he is doing will come here and work for that pay probably for a minimum of $53K.
So in a return response: what I just stated above and said " ... that my resume shows I was a network administrator for 2 years and 4 months at 2 companies, worked at Dell Computers also and prior to that when I was an Industrial Engineer for 16 years I ordered all the computers and set up all the networks and did the programming without the title for two different companies and worked with the highest forms of automation and robotics that was available and that you sir probably do not have the knowledge to understand that
."
I WILL MAKE A PREDICTION RIGHT HERE THAT FOR THE NEXT 8 YEARS THEY WILL NOT HAVE ANY ONE WHO IS AS QUALIFIED AS I AM TO COME TO KSP TO DO THAT JOB FOR $33K A YEAR
Ethan watched his shows and played and Michael came home at 5:50.    We had cereal for supper since we were broke and nothing was thawed out.    I washed up the dishes and went out to scrape the grass out of the mower.    Amy went to get Dennis' truck so she could haul some stuff to a friends house who is having a yard sale.    They all left at 7:15 after I loaded the truck.
I shaved and showered by 7:40 and settled in for the night and they got back at 9:15 and Ethan in bed and I was out by 10:20.

On Saturday, September 12, 2009 up at 4:10 and went to get gas in the car and at KSP with 1 call-in on 7 wallstand and in the inside Hospital and on post at 7:06, and I have a count of 1, and did rounds.
At 7:32 the Shift Captain radioed for an officer up front.    I just did inventories and rounds, and it was an uneventful day and I watched 11:00 U.S. Open Tennis in the break room when I could.
I heard that the National Guard are camped at the Training Building today and will be coming into KSP tomorrow to evaluate or practice for emergency situations.    They came in two white buses and I can see 4 big tents.
They swapped the female officer on the first Floor with 1 wallstand because she was stressed out.    Great!    Lets put a stressed out person around weapons.
Our acting Warden Alan Brown and two other officers in their CERT uniforms escorted a tour of 4 National Guard members at 12:45 to 6 cellhouse and at 1:00 to 7 cellhouse.
At Lockup I called in my count of 1 and waited to be relieved and on 3 cellhouse O/S rec on Tuesday.
Made it home by 3:50, and Ethan was up and playing hard and we went out for a little yard work and washed the cars.    We left to go to Ryans for supper, and back home by 8:15.    I shaved and showered and worked on getting Ethan down and myself by 10:00.

On Sunday, September 13, 2009 up at 4:10 and got a Sunday paper and at KSP at 6:35 with 3 call-ins, 2 Special Assignments, 6 Walk, and a new group of Supervisors.
On the way I was sent to 11/12 Right and on post at 7:03, count 20/19=39, made ACU list and rec list, rounds and count by 7:10 and when count cleared we got the 5 ACU out to the mini-gym at 7:24.    Then got 11 Right 7 out for rec and secured both groups by 8:35.
Then hooked up 7 on 12 Right to the mini-gym at 8:41, and started rec for 12 Right with interruption to get several out to go to Property and finished all rec and secured by 9:51.
Unlocked tray slots at 9:56, and chow on at 10:10, served by 10:30, had a tray and got trays off by 10:55.
Went to break at 11:25 and returned at 11:55 and started legal calls and finished by 12:26 and let the walkman out to clean.
I got the walkman in the shower and finished security checks, and rounds and count slip to Upper Cage and secured walkman at 2:00 and closed.    I am still on Special Assignment on Monday and Firearms at 9:30.
I made it home by 3:55 after stopping to get garbage bags at the Dollar General, and found Amy in Michael's room making him clean it due to the cat mess.
I checked my email and fell asleep on the futon until 5:10.    Ethan was home.    Amy making supper and we ate, and cleaned up and took the trash out, then back to shave and shower by 7:35.    Linda and Dennis came by to visit and Michael went with them to stay overnight.    I watched the Women's U.S. Open Tennis final.    Put Ethan down at 8:30, and I fell asleep by 9:00.

I WAS GIVEN MY 5 YEAR PIN TODAY
On Monday, September 14, 2009 up at 4:10 and on a cloudy day left early to go to the ATM and Post Office.    At KSP and there are 4 of us on Special Assignment and I went to the yard office at 7:00 and did the Voc/Acad patdowns at 7:35 and roamed the yard while PCs were out.    I talked with the SSU inmates that went to the Legal Office today
At 9:00 I went out the Front Gate to drive to the Training Building for Firearms Requalification.
We did the revolver first and passed it easily.    Then took a test and passed it, and went out to clean the revolver.    Then we shot the rifle, and I hit 26 out of 30, and then did the shotgun and passed all today and we were done by 11:30.
I drove to Eddyville's Hardees and got me a Combo and ate it on my way back to KSP.
On the yard at 12:00, and did GP Let-in/out at 12:15.
Later I watched the Engineers putting up a fence from the 6 cellhouse entrance to the Maintenance Building (Did I cause this fence to be built?) and roamed the yard until 1:15.    I was asked to go to the Annex and get a visitor and escort him to the PI garment plant.
On my way back to the yard they radioed me to go to the Captain's office.    Went to his office and it turned out to be Captain Reverzpsycology who gave me my 5 year pin and had my picture taken with him shaking hands.
I went to the Front Gate and helped out until I clocked out.
I made it to the house by 3:35 and Amy called and said she was at the Pediatrics with Ethan who has a fever and a rash all over his body.
She came home with him at 5:00 and he was very warm and splotchy.    They swabbed to test what it was.    We gave him some Tylenol and he was better fever wise.    Amy will be home with him tomorrow.    We watched the U.S. Open Tennis Mens final.
Michael came home at 6:00 and Amy went through his school stuff and on his progress report and he had 2-As, 1-B, and she was in shock since he had 3-Fs.    She scolded him that he needs to leave his patch on longer each day for his AHD.
Amy made supper, we ate and I cleaned up after the Tennis was over.
Watched "AGT" and put Ethan down at 8:06 and then shaved and showered by 9:35.    I went to sleep at 10:00, and Amy woke me to tell me that Ethan was itching really badly.    So she went to town to get some Benadryl and Tylenol for Ethan, and I was back to sleep by 10:40.

On Tuesday, September 15, 2009 up at 4:10 on payday was the only reason I left for work today and it is sprinkling rain this morning.    At KSP and two storks flew over my head as I walked to the Front Gate.    I hope that was not a sign for an early birth or worse.    Inside and they had 2 call-ins, 3 cellhouse and Legal Office.    The Shift Captain came to me and said I was going to 3 cellhouse and on the way the Lieutenant said go to 11/12 Left.    Due to call-ins and officers going to firearms training at 9:00 they do not have enough officers to relieved them and for outside rec.
So all rec was inside today.    On post at 7:03, count is 20/19=39 and did my rounds and there were books, trash and clothing all over the walks, and midnight shift should not have left it that way.
Turned in my count slip and made a rec list and when the count cleared I got 2 janitors out to clean up the walk, and did not get 12 Left 10 of them out until 7:28, and secured by 8:28, and did rounds and security checks and started rec due to a delay for 11 Left with 10 out at 8:45, and secured them at 9:45.    Unlocked the tray slots and handed out the Canteen Sheets.
Chow on at 10:22, served by 10:46, and trays and canteen sheets off at 11:10, signed them and gave them to the Float.
As I could hear on the radio that Court Call is locking inmates up left and right, as 15 Walk is full.
I got the walkman out at 12:01 and he was my only legal call to do, and had him clean the tracks.
They locked up SSU John Garland and he got 15 days and in 3 cellhouse I would assume on 15 Walk.    I guess the new SSU officer Futureconflict is pissing them off, and I will see how long he last over there.    Now I hear that John Garland managed to fall and hurt his back when he found out he was going to the hole.    They put him in the inside Hospital.    He will still have to serve his hole time.
The rest of the day was uneventful and closed.
As I was leaving a note said that my uniforms were ready and I went on to the Bank and deposited my paycheck.    Then drove home by 3:50 and Amy was tired from no sleep so I watched Ethan.    In the mailbox I had a letter from Trenton, Florida, and opened it to find an order for a CD-ROM Book Order and a check for $30.
I put Ethan down for a nap at 4:40 and made myself a coffee hoping to get me out of this funk mood or sinus headache that I have.    I watched the news at 5:00, and Amy was up and discovered that the cat had pissed and crapped on everything.    So she finally had enough and got the cat and put it outside to stay.    I said a silent Yeah in my head, saying it was about time, and my dog Sasha like it too.
I fell asleep on the futon at 5:20 and Ethan woke me at 5:45 and I dealt with him while Amy made supper.    We ate and I cleaned up the mess by 7:00.
Later I processed the CD-ROM Book Order by 8:40 and got it ready to mail, and after costs I will make $22 for an hours work.
Ethan went down at 9:00 but did not go to sleep so Amy took him for a car ride and returned to put him down and we were out by 10:00.
He woke us up at 11:00 and 1:00 and 3:00 and was up with him until I got him down at 3:40 in bed with me.

Article 9/16/2009 - Office of the Courts lays off 47 in Frankfort.
    This affects Kentucky Court systems.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2009 up at 6:20 on a day off and I have to drive Michael to school today because of his drum equipment, and pick him up for the same reason and take him to his 4:00 dental appointment.    Amy left for work at 6:30
Michael got ready and I got Ethan up so we could leave at 7:20 to go to the school.
I drove to get gas at $2.31 a gallon and then to town for a paper and donuts.    I had to wait for the Post Office to open to mail off the Book Order and also for the Bank to open to cash the check.
I returned home by 8:55 and we had our donuts, and I let Ethan play and watch his shows.    He went down for a nap at 10:45.    I shaved and showered and then updated my budget, and checked emails.
Amy called and said I need to take off work Friday to watch Ethan if he is still sick.    She said she has taken 5 days and if she misses another day she could be suspended for 3 days without pay.    I said okay.
I watched the noon news while doing web searches and research and the next thing I knew is I woke up with the laptop on my lap at 2:04, with a stiff neck.
I put a load of clothes in the washer, and got a bag ready for Ethan and woke him, changed him and dressed him.    We left at 2:22 and drove to the school by 2:40 and picked him and the drum set up and then went to Paducah for his appointment.
Made it to the Dental office at 3:40 and Ethan was active in the waiting room, and at 3:55 he came over to me and I could smell him.    Took him in the bathroom and had to lay him on the floor to change a very poopy diaper.
Michael went in at 4:09 and was done at 4:35 and we made it home by 5:08.
Amy came home at 6:00 with McDonald's fast food and we ate, and I watched the finals of "America's Got Talent."
A local person from Mayfield, Ky, Kevin Skinner won the million dollar prize on "AGT."
Another night of getting Ethan down for the night who had us up 3 times.

Article 9/17/2009 - Execution fails: inmate traumatized, lawyer says.

On Thursday, September 17, 2009 up at 6:00 on a day off and I left to go to the ATM to get grocery money, then to town for a paper and returned home at 6:40.    Amy was in the shower and when she was done she got Michael up, fed and ready for her to drive him to school at 7:35.    Ethan was still asleep and Amy was going on to do grocery shopping at Aldi's and Wal-Mart.
Ethan was up at 8:30 and changed him and fed him by 9:00.    I vacuumed the entire house, and Amy returned at 10:52 and unloaded the groceries.
I cleaned out the burn barrel and took the solid trash to Dennis' house.
I called Captain JayJ to let him know I cannot work tomorrow due to Ethan's illness.    He said it was no problem.
We got Ethan up and left to go to Paducah to Lourdes for Ethan's 1:50 appointment with the Pediatrician and to drop off an RSVP invite by the Hospital for Amy and I on Thursday Oct. 1st
We got into a room at 2:00 and waited.    The doctor came in at 2:15 and looked Ethan over.    He said Ethan has some kind of Coxsackie virus in his throat and the splotches on his body is a form of exema.
We were out of there at 2:45 and drove to Western Baptist so Amy could go to the OB's office to turn in her FMLA papers.    She got back and we drove home by 3:45, and Michael had got off the bus at Dennis' house.
I will be home with Ethan on Friday, and I went online and discovered that I had a virus attack.    So I ran a Malware check on the laptop because it informed me of 173 trojan viruses.    It took 2 and half hours to do.    It quarantined and deleted all of them.    They came from a site websearch.com and a site titled funwebproducts.    So I soon discovered that Michael did this while he was in Amy's profile.    So I will tell Amy to not let him do that in her profile or I will have to block her from certain sites also.    Michael has his own profile to prevent that from happening.
I took Ethan out in the backyard to play at 4:20 and back in to watch the news at 5:00.    Amy left to do homework with Michael at Linda's.    She also has a meeting at her work tonight and Michael will be with her.
So Ethan and I had grilled cheese sandwiches for supper and done by 6:00.
I put Ethan down for the night at 7:20, and they came home by 8:30 and of course woke Ethan at 9:36 and I put him in bed with me and we were out by 10:45.

On Friday, September 18, 2009 up at 5:00 and I drove to town at 5:15 to get a paper and back at 5:40.    Amy left for work and Michael on the bus and Ethan was still asleep at 7:00.
He woke up at 7:30, changed him and gave him a bottle.    I made us eggs and toast for breakfast and cleaned up by 8:45.    Ethan played and was back down for a nap at 9:30.
I went out to clean out my Prism, and vacuum and wipe the insides down.
Ethan was up at 12:50, and changed him, fed him and then we went outside to clean up the Corsica and vacuum it, and then let him play in the backyard and went back in at 3:00.
I had a coffee and checked my email and Michael got off the bus at Dennis' again, called in my post and in the inside Hospital on Saturday and got my uniform ready by 4:30 and watched the news at 5:00.    Amy called and said she would be home late today and did not get home until 6:30 and we had cereal for supper and I went out to burn the trash at 7:20, then shaved and showered by 7:50.    We settled in for the night and all asleep by 9:40.

Article 9/19/2009 - Court temporarily halts second execution attempt.

A FEMALE OFFICER TERMINATED FOR HAVING CONTRABAND LORTAB ON HER AND WE HAD 3 OUTSIDE INMATES IN A FIGHT
AND IT IS STARTING TO LOOK LIKE DEATH ROW IS GOING TO HELL AFTER I LEFT IT
On Saturday, September 19, 2009 up at 4:10 with a light rain and left to go to KSP at 5:10 and in at 6:20 with a call-in Kitchen Security 3-11 and a 1st Early filled that and also the Captain radioed the yard to send and officer to 3 cellhouse.    They had the CERT team officers at the Front Gate doing patdowns on incoming while I was gone.    And as a result they busted a female officer Givesitaway for having a Lortab in her pouch inside a glove in the mouth protection pack.    Of course she was terminated for that.
I turned in a COMP for sick slip for yesterday, and the roster has me on the 2nd Floor on Sunday, 3 cellhouse on Monday, and Kitchen 4-12 on Tuesday.    In the officer's canteen an officer told me there was a fight behind the 30 man dorm involving 3 outside inmates.    One on the inmates was striking the other two with rebar and a sledge hammer was also involved.
Also told to me that death row inmate John Garland was out of the inside Hospital and most likely in 3 cellhouse to serve his 15 days.    He was locked up for lying to the SSU officer by saying he had a medical excuse to use the stairs by the Laundry building when they go out for outside rec.    The officer checked it out and found no such permission.    They are constructing the new fenced in rec area and he would have to use the steps by 6 cellhouse.
I also found out that there seems to be a new conflict going on between death row inmates Shawn Windsor and Robert Foley.    It apparently involved a death threat.    The situation resulted in them moving Windsor from D1 to G3, which was Garland's recently emptied cell.    I am unsure if Foley is still in D5.    They changed Windsor to Group 1 rec and his Canteen day.
Well I have been away from SSU only a month and it is going to hell.    HA! HA! HA!    That also tells me they are being prodded to rebel more now.    I kept the peace for 2 years
.
I was in the inside Hospital at 7:06, with no inmates and made rounds, checked equipment and inventories.    While in the break room I checked the TV to see if it gets Channel 27 ESPNU, and it did, which means I can watch the UofL-UK Football game that starts at 11:00.
Medical staff came in at 8:59, and I called the Shift Captain about a big bag with GP clothes in it next to the desk.    He said put it in the bio room it is probably from the outside inmate fight on Wednesday.
The Sally Port officer came in and chatted with me for a while and he will be giving me a break today.    Medical staff left at 9:50 and the move sheet came and it shows that death row inmate Brian Moore moved from 3 cellhouse 15L-10 to 6-J10 and Robert Foley who must have made the threat was moved from 15L-10 to 15L-12, and John Garland was moved from 15L-12 to 15L-7.
I was relieved for a break at 10:30 and to the Kitchen to eat Chili Mac, and returned at 10:55 and made rounds and watched the game and by 12:27 UK was ahead 17-7, and had two officer come in for restroom breaks and to visit.
By 1:22 UK has made 3 errors and let UL back in it and ahead 20-17.
At 1:40 in the 4th Quarter UK scored and went ahead 24-20, and by 1:47 UL was up 27-24.
UK recovered a fumbled punt return, then scored at TD at 2:00 to lead 31-27 with 4:28 left in the game.    At 2:05 UK intercepted a reflected pass with a run back and 1:57 left in the game and held on to win.
GP Lockup at 2:13 and yard cleared at 2:17 and I called in a count of zero at 2:20 and Signal-14 cleared at 2:28.    I closed up the Hospital and found the evening shift Sergeant to give him the keys at 3:00.
Off to the house by 3:45 and we put Ethan down for a nap and I went out to mow the yard at 4:15 and it began raining on me by 4:30, so I stopped.
Went in and watched some college football games and Amy and Michael are cleaning his room.    I fell asleep on the futon and Amy woke me at 5:40 with Ethan awake.    They had finished cleaning his room and was taking Michael to Sonic for a treat.    So I am stuck watching Ethan who is very ill.
They came back at 6:10 and I washed the dishes while Amy made supper.    We ate by 6:40 and cleaned up and changed Ethan's poopy diaper by 7:30.    Amy and Michael are working on his homework.
Amy is in a bad mood and angry at everything I do.    I got Ethan ready for bed and down by 8:20, then shaved and showered by 8:47 and asleep by 10:10.

On Sunday, September 20, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP with 5 call-ins, Hospital, 6 wallstand, 10 wallstand, PM Kitchen Security and Visits.
On the 2nd Floor at 7:04, count is 86, made rounds and let-out list, and did toxic and Control Log inventories and security checks and the yard wanted A8 out for a visit.    The yard Lt made rounds and Let-out came at 7:58.    Cell B-3 would not open properly and had to get the override key to get him out, so the Captain had me move him to B-14.
Did the LDS and got janitors out to clean at 8:25 and move done by 8:30.
Secured janitors and got ready for GP Let-out which occurred at 9:58 and did a LDS by 10:10.    Relieved at 10:38 and to the Kitchen for soup and sandwich and back at 10:55, did rounds and finished security checks.
AM Kitchen Worker let in at 11:30 was called and secured them, and made rounds and had the 12:15 Let-in/out and let the janitors out for showers.
Did an LDS and missing four unassigned inmates, who the yard reported as three are in the Chapel, and one in visits.
I received 3 Kitchen Worker outcounts at 1:10 and secured all janitors by 1:20 and got ready for Lockup at 2:15 and secured them at 2:21, did a stand up count by 2:25, and called in a count of 83 at 2:26, and got a Signal-14 cleared at 2:29.    Made final rounds and relieved and home by 3:45.
I put Ethan down for a nap at 4:10 and at 4:30 I took a nap and the phone rang and Ethan woke me at 5:15.
Amy made supper of pasta salad with vinaigrette and baked beans with pears and we all ate by 6:00, and cleaned up by 6:30 and I went out to burn the trash and take the solid trash to Dennis' house by 7:20.
Amy gave Ethan a bath and took him and Michael to visit Linda, and she came back without either.    I shaved and showered and went to bed at 9:00 and asleep by 9:45.    I was up all night with a restroom trip every couple of hours for retaining water, and around 2:00 a.m. I had an irritating cough and had a spoon of honey and it eased it enough for me to go back to sleep.

On Monday, September 21, 2009 up at 4:10 on a cloudy day and at KSP the metal detector kept going off on me, and I had taken everything off even watch and belt before it did not beep.    So those two must be it.    They must have turned it to a maximum setting.    Only 1 call-in in 5 cellhouse Tower
The officer gave me $40 for repairing his computer today and I was sent to 11/12 Right on cell cleaning day on the lower walks, and on post at 7:03 with a count of 20/19=39.    Did my rounds and count and when the count cleared they came on to hook up 4 inmates to go to reclassification and 1 refused, and did my security checks and got the cart ready for cell cleaning and on to start it at 7:50 and opened 4 cells at a time moving cleaning items along to each cell and the reclass were back at 8:15 and got 12R-15 out for Court Call and he returned at 9:00 and I finished cell cleaning by 9:10 and made rounds and handed out three 30 day reviews, and got all cleaning supplies off the walk.
I updated activity sheets and logbook, then made rounds and unlocked tray slots and got carts ready and chow was on walks by 10:21 and served by 10:51.    Then a Fire Drill was called on the 1st Floor at 10:15, and I got off and had a tray of Loaded Nachos and then got the trays off by 11:18.
Special Security went on at 11:40 and finished my security checks for me.
The Lower Cage called for me to move 11R-8 to 13R-15, and 12R-8 to 11R-18 and one in 15L-9 is to move into 12R-8.    So I just found out about these moves and started getting the Entry/Exit forms and activity sheets ready.    So they just brought the inmate from 15L-9 up here 1 minute after I find out about the moves.    So I went on to start these moves to pack up 11R-18 and then 12R-8 and he wanted to talk to the UA and did not want to move.    I told the officer at my desk about it and then went to get 11R-18 out and down.    Then things were on hold while they hooked up 12R-8 out to see the UA.    They came back with a decision to leave 12R-8 where he was and I put the new one in 11R-18 by 12:05 and updated that.
I let my walkman out at 12:20, and at 12:45 had to get 12R-6 out for a phone call in the CTO's office.    I secured the walkman in the showers while a Sergeant made his rounds.    I got 12R-19 out for an attorney call and he could not get through by 1:45, so I put him up, then got my walkman secured for rounds and count by 1:50, and closed.
Went home and mowed the yard at 4:30 and finished by 6:00.    Amy came home with the boys and started making a supper, and I shaved and showered for my humid sweat-ridden body by 6:30.    We had supper and I cleaned up the dishes.    Amy is being a bitchy and nagging person tonight and got to bed with no issues with an early shift tomorrow.

On Tuesday, September 22, 2009 up at 2:00 on the first day of Fall on a starry night and at KSP at 3:46 and clocked in at 3:53 to do the Kitchen Back Door post.    We had 22 kitchen workers for my count at 4:05.    Ramadan is over and they are cooking pancakes this morning.    All the midnight officers that came in look like walking zombies for lack of sleep.
Chow to 3 cellhouse started at 4:54 and the Food Truck is down so Kitchen workers had to push carts under escort.    Then the gator took 6 & 7 cellhouse at 5:08, and then PC's 92 in the kitchen by 5:12 and out by 5:40 and then Pill Call and trays to the annex at 5:45.
69 PI inmates in the kitchen at 6:00, and trays started coming back by 6:18 and PI out at 6:26.
The yard opened at 6:34 and 269 GPs in the kitchen and they were cleared by 7:17.    I heard them send a 2nd Early to 3 cellhouse probably a call-in.    And all trays were back by 7:25 and GP Lockup called at 7:30 and locked the door and went to get some pancakes.
The tools were cleared by 8:53 and I escorted 2 kitchen workers to the Slop Dock.    The Supply Truck came to be unloaded at 9:17.
PCs were locked up and chow went to the cellhouses at 9:57, and the yard opened at 10:18, and started the processing AM out and PM in by 10:30 and chow to annex and 3 cellhouse by 10:30.
I was relieved at 11:00 and did the GP Pill Line by 11:08 and took a short break before going out to relieve the Tower at 11:20.
I did the 11:30 AM Kitchen Worker Let-in on each Floor.    The Count Office called and said 5-1-C9 was sent to 7 cellhouse and I could see that they were already packing it up.    The officer came back at 11:50 and I went to the Front Gate to clock out and drove home by 12:40.
I laid down for a nap at 1:30 and slept until 3:30.
I did some emails to people who needed it, and Michael came home at 4:20 and I had him do his homework.
Amy and Ethan got home at 6:00, and we heated up leftovers and then cut up a watermelon.    We ate and cleaned up by 7:00.
I watched the two new shows of "NCIS" on CBS form 7-9 and Ethan played and I put him down at 8:10, and I went to bed at 10:00 but fell asleep at 11:00.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2009 up at 5:15 on a day off, and Amy was up and feeding the inner baby, and then took a shower.    I got Michael's lunch made and some waffles for breakfast.    I got him up at 6:30 as Amy was leaving to work.    I have to get Ethan up so I can drive him to school at 7:20.    I did that and then went to get gas at $2.43 a gallon and also powerball tickets, and then we went to southside to get a paper and donuts, and we returned home by 8:20.
We enjoyed our donuts and Ethan watched his shows and I put him down for a nap at 9:45 and shaved and showered.
I got a lot of stuff done before he woke up at 1:15.    I fed him and we left at 2:25 to pick up Michael at school.
I have had to start driving the Corsica which has 157,000 miles on it since the Prism is starting to have transmission problems at 280,000 miles.    My neighbor has someone who wants to buy the Geo Prism in a few days and hope to get $200 out of it, plus it would save us about $140 a year on auto insurance.    And Amy wants to sell the treadmill also for extra cash while she is off for FMLA.
We were back home with Michael at 3:15.    I made a cup of coffee and Linda and Dennis came by to visit.
After they left we went out in the backyard to play at 3:30 and they jumped on the trampoline and did some swinging until 4:05 and we went in.
Amy came home at 6:14 with pizza rounds and we heated them up for supper, and ate and cleaned up by 7:00.
I left to go to Wal-Mart to get bananas, tums, oil, Comp Books and duct tape, and returned at 7:45.    Dennis had come to get Michael to stay overnight.    I watched new TV shows at 8:00 and Ethan went down at 8:20 and myself at 10:10.

Article 9/24/2009 - Court asked to block Windsor's execution.
This affects death row inmate Shawn Windsor.

On Thursday, September 24, 2009 up at 5:00 on a day off with 7 hours of well needed and undisturbed sleep.    I checked the powerball numbers and it was a no win, and its up to $150 million now.    I drove to town to get a paper and a decaf coffee for Amy and returned at 6:05 and Ethan was up at 6:20.    I used the bathroom for a while and when I was done Amy went to lie down while I watched Ethan.    Ethan played and watched his shows.    At 7:45 I got the hose and rinsed off the front porch, windows and ceiling, and came inside to clean the windows and then dusted the entire house and cleaned the ceiling fans.    Then vacuumed the house.
Ethan went down at 9:36 and Amy took a shower and got ready to go to a 10:30 OB appointment.    I had something to eat and cleaned up the dishes.
Amy was on her way back from the appointment and I dusted and vacuumed my room and then put all my stuff in the Corsica from the Prism.
Ethan was up at 12:00 and he came out with me, and we had a rain that left puddles this morning in our driveway and I let him play in them.

I brought him in at 1:05 for a bath and then to the solid trash to Dennis' house and back at 1:40.    Amy wanted to take a nap so I watched Ethan and we built a tower with alphabet blocks and he would knock them down.    I called my post in at 1:55 and I was not on outside rec nor anywhere on the roster.    I transferred to the Captain and he said come on in and he may put me back on outside rec.    Apparently they have an inmate at WBH, but he already has officers assigned to that.
I woke Amy at 2:30 so she could go get Michael at school, and it has rained off and on all day.    I put Ethan down for a nap at 3:55.    Then prepared spaghetti for supper and Ethan was up at 5:38 and had supper and cleaned up.
I got a call from my brother who said our dad is in the hospital.    He said they found him wandering aimlessly to town and he fell.    They may be considering to put him in a nursing home.    I asked if there is anything that I can do.    He said no he just wanted to let me know what is happening.
Amy had me take Ethan to stay with Dennis at 6:30 for an hour so she could get Michael's homework done and her studying.
I came back and did the dishes and watched TV from 7-8, and Amy took Michael to stay overnight and pick up Ethan.    I shaved and showered by 8:33 and Ethan was still hyped up but we got him down by 9:00 and I was out by 9:50.

A CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS LESSON OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN INMATES PLAN A MISDIRECTION
On Friday, September 25, 2009 up at 4:10 on a cloudy day and chance of rain and at KSP with 3 call-ins, 2 Early Kitchens and 1 in 3 cellhouse so the yard will be short today.    I am scheduled for 3 cellhouse on Saturday, Kitchen 4-12 on Sunday and 3 cellhouse on Monday.    I asked the Lt if he wanted me to do the Upper Cage.    He said thank you.    On post at 7:05 and because Lieutenant Holeytimber is the Shift Captain and he called Roll Call late today.
Got all walks going and count cleared by 7:19, and I have new officers on both upper walks so I spent my day teaching them what to do.    Got the janitors out and then recs by 7:28 and phone calls started and we may have 3 groups outside today.    They did walk-ins on 13/14 Left and later 11/12 Right.    We secured the first recs by 8:52.
The 13 left officer had to go home so the yard sent the Sanitation officer to relieve him.
We got the next groups out and did the walk-ins and those recs were all secured by 10:22.
Medical made rounds and chow was on the walks by 10:40 and served by 11:11.    Then someone between all the madness made us move inmates to different cells, and we managed to get trays off by 11:38.
At 11:50 we got 4 out of 11 Right for outside rec and then let the walkman out to clean walks and then had to get inmates out for releases to the yard.    At 12:20 they wanted more inmates moved to different cells.
One of them was death row inmate Ronnie Bowling, who apparently got into a fight with a GP kitchen worker outside of the 6 cellhouse door.    They have locked up more death row inmates in this month and a half, than the whole 2 years I had them.
At 12:46 we hooked up 3 inmates and released them to the yard and I updated all the rosters and boards for the changes today.
At 1:00 I started all the legal calls and done by 1:15.    At 1:26 11R-4 was hooked up to go see IA and returned at 1:41 and then the same for 11L-14 and back soon and I got count slips to the Lower Cage at 2:00, and all inmates secured.
Here is the story of what happened on Wednesday 23rd that I did not know happened until today:
A misdirection was set up in that inmate Yardtax who would sit up by the Bell Tower in front of the inmate canteen area to wait for his payoffs apparently had pissed off two brothers inmate Quehoot and inmate Kayhoot who must have owed him a debt or tax for his services.
Death row inmate Ronnie Bowling was being escorted from doing Legal Aide service in 3 cellhouse at 12:13 and as he got to the door of 6 cellhouse inmate Kayhoot came up to Bowling and started hitting him with his fist and Ronnie defended himself.    The escorting officer must have called a fight and I was told that Ronnie Bowling did some damage back at inmate Kayhoot.    So everyone who heard the fight on a radio was in route to deal with the fight, and all visible wallstands were looking in that direction.    In the meantime inmate Quehoot unnoticed was smashing inmate Yardtax's head with a very big rock until he was found later on the ground in a pool of blood
.
Now I know who was at WBH and why they had officers already assigned and his condition was such that he will be there for a while.
I noticed that inmate Quehoot was on 13 Left.
We got a Signal-14 cleared and I closed a very busy and frustrating day.
Amy called and said she is bringing something home for supper, and to top off my day I got stuck in a traffic jam for two miles on the Interstate and made it to Dennis' house late today.    Linda wanted me to help her on the options for purchasing a Dell laptop so I showed her those categories.
I got home with Ethan around 5:00, and I checked my emails and I had a CD-ROM Book Order from Australia, so I processed the order by 6:00.    Michael came home and I changed a very poopy diaper and then gave him some milk.
Amy home at 6:00 and she brought burritos and we ate supper and cleaned up by 7:00.
I shaved and showered by 7:30 and put Ethan down and rested from my hectic day.
My brother called and said the doctors determined that my dad has dementia and recommended he be put in a nursing home.    So I need to consider going to visit him next Tuesday.    I got the CD order ready to mail and in bed at 9:00 and fell asleep by 9:30.

WE HAD TWO FIGHTS IN TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN 3 CELLHOUSE AT THE SAME TIME
On Saturday, September 26, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP with 3 call-ins, 3 cellhouse, 3rd Floor and 2nd Early.
On 3 cellhouse 11/12 Left today at 7:03, count 20/16=36, made rounds and count and slip to Upper Cage and made a rec list.    Janitor out at 7:19 and at 7:30 moved out 11L-14 and move one in the cell, updated all, and still have 3 empty cells.
Let 12 Left out for rec at 7:42, which included Ronnie Bowling.
At 7:45 I could hear the 3 cellhouse Lieutenant yelling at the Lower Cage officer to get the Pepperball Gun.    The Lieutenant came running up the stairwell with the Pepperball Gun and went to the door going to the Mini-Gym where a fight between inmates was going on.
I could not leave the post and at 7:46 at which time I heard the 12 Right officer radio a fight on 12 Right.    The Cages came up and had to get them locked up in their cells since the Lieutenant was unavailable.    There was two inmates fighting but it lasted only a minute and the officers were standing at the crash gates yelling for all inmates to go to their cells.    It was finally under control
.
I was talking with Ronnie Bowling after that and he told me what happened on Wednesday.    He also said that they let John Garland out of the hole and put him in G2, which was Ronnie's cell.    I told him about why I am not on SSU anymore.    He laughed about that.    He asked me if I could call Internal Affairs or the Unit Admin to see if he could give him his G2 cell back.
I put the rec group up at 8:42 and did rounds and security checks, and then let 11 Left out for rec at 8:55, and secured them at 9:55.
Unlocked slots and got the carts ready, medical in for pill call at 10:11, chow on walks by 10:15, served by 10:35, and ate a tray before getting trays off by 10:57.    Canteen came up at 11:35 and I sorted it and logged it.    Went on to hand it out at 11:55 and finished at 12:25 with only one inmate who did not get his.
Let the walkman out to clean at 12:27, and finished checks, showered and secured walkman and janitor, counts in and waited to be relieved, on Kitchen 4-12 on Sunday.    I could hear that they went to transport the inmate back from WBH.
I headed home to watch the 5:00 UK versus #1 Florida in football at 3:45 and Ethan was asleep, Amy was studying and I had to search for the living room TV remote and at 4:30 found it in Ethan's bedside table where he hid it.
Ethan was up at 5:00 as the game started, and I ate supper while watching the game.    Amy gave Ethan a bath, and it began raining at 7:30.    UK is struggling behind 34-7 in the 4th quarter, and still lost 41-7 by 8:30.    I shaved and showered and tried to go to sleep as early as I could.

Article 9/27/2009 - Panel reviews ruling that led to execution.

On Sunday, September 27, 2009 up at 2:00 a.m. with 4 and 1/2 hours sleep and clear skies and at KSP to clock in for Kitchen 4-12 and on post at 4:00, 20 kitchen workers for count at 4:03.
Chow to 3 cellhouse at 4:55, and 6,7 and Hospital at 5:05.    PC's in at 5:23 and out at 5:47, pill call and trays to the annex at 5:52 and called a count in at 5:55.    Trays have not returned yet and finally got them here by 6:21.
GP's were in for chow at 6:27 as the frenzy began and the yard opened at 6:48 and GPs out at 7:18.
Trays back from the annex at 7:25 and went on break at 7:30 and had biscuits and gravy and they sent a 2nd Early to 7 wallstand for a call-in.
I did not have to do anything until the tools cleared at 8:29 and two kitchen workers to the Slop Dock.
Chow to 6 and 7 cellhouse and process AM K/Ws out at 9:40, chow to annex at 9:48 and GP Let-out at 10:00 and chow to 3 cellhouse.
Processed the PM Kitchen workers in at 10:30 and relieved at 11 to do the Pill Line.    The Tower officer did not want a break so I worked the yard until I left at 12:00 and home by 12:45.
Ethan and Amy were asleep and she got up at 2:00 and I went to bed until 4:00.
They were all playing in the backyard and I joined them and at 4:45 Ethan was getting ill and brought him in to go down for a nap by 5:00.
I called my mother about what was going on with my dad.    She was upset because my brother's wife accused her of causing this incident resulting in my father having to go into a nursing home.    So I spent 30 minutes listening to her and consoling her.    This all started 7 years ago, and has led to what has happened.
The best I can tell my dad need to be admitted.
I watched Ethan at 5:36 so Amy could make supper.    We ate and cleaned up and both boys went to the grandparents to stay overnight at 7:10.    I shaved and showered by 8:00.
Amy and I went to Sonic to get a sundae and onion rings and returned at 8:45 and I was asleep by 9:30.

On Monday, September 28, 2009 up at 3:30 on a cool morning with low humidity, but the high today is 71, and made me some breakfast at home to save money.    At KSP with 5 call-ins, 2nd Floor, Photo ID, Laundry, Adm. Lt, 6 cellhouse and one unknown.
On 3 cellhouse 11/12 Right at 7:04 and did all by 7:18, and two out for reclass at 7:32 and two for Court Call at 8:00 and started cell cleaning and finished by 9:10 and all inmates returned and unlocked slots by 9:45.
Chow on at 10:05, served by 10:24, and ate and then got trays off by 11:00.
They released 8 inmates from 3 cellhouse and one was Ronnie Bowling and Special Security on walks to do checks by 11:30, and let walkman out at 12:00, and it was an uneventful day with 1 release and count cleared and relieved.
I drove to the Post Office to mail the CD-ROM Book Order, then to get Ethan from Dennis.    Ethan had run a fever of 102 degrees last night but he seems to be okay now.    To the house by 4:00, and checked my email, and Ethan had a monstrous poop at 4:50.
I made scramble eggs and toast for supper and Amy was home at 6:00 and she took Ethan's temperature and he was 107 degrees.    She sat with him while I cleaned up at 7:00.
Ethan was down for a nap at 7:30 and Amy and Michael left to go somewhere.    5 minutes later he was crying and I checked on him and he had vomited in his playpen and on his clothes.    I got that all pulled off and his clothes changed and put him on the big bed at 7:45.    Amy was back without Michael at 8:05 and I told her what happened.    I thought I was going to have to stay home with him tomorrow but Linda has offered to watch him.
I took a shave and shower at 9:00 and called it a night at 9:30.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2009 up at 4:10 and its 48 degrees with a high of 71 and at KSP with 4 call-ins, 1 wallstand, 1st Early, 7 cellhouse and PM Kitchen.    They put Ronnie Bowling back in cell G2 and moved John Garland to G12, and also Fred Furnish into D1.
The yard will have to send someone to 3 cellhouse to be with me on outside rec and I got the rec ready by 7:15.    They brought 20 out at 7:23 and told me that we may have 3 groups today.    It was a windy cool today.
They brought 20 more out at 8:36 for the next Group.
I found out that the 3rd Group was the janitor so they may cancel that.    Death row inmate Robert Foley was out on rec and I asked him what he and Windsor got into over.    He said it was nothing and said I just lost my temper.    They came to get this group at 9:36.    I helped them secure them and the Lt came and told me to go to the yard.
As I was leaving at 10:00 I heard the Yard Desk Sergeant radioed for GP Let-out.    That was a mistake since he should have done that at 10:15.    When I got to the Yard Office I asked the new Sergeant if anyone was taking SSU to the Canteen.    He was new and then told me to do it.    So I radioed any officer if they could clear the GPs out of the Canteen area and secure the gate and advise me for SSU.    I got 8 SSU out of 6 cellhouse at 10:08 and escorted them to the Canteen.    The SSU inmates were talking to me about what was up with me not on SSU anymore.    I escorted them back at 10:22.
I roamed the yard until 11:00 and went on break in the kitchen.    The yard asked me to do the K/W Let-in and before I do take this GP to 3 cellhouse for a lockup.    I was supposed to cuff him but I didn't and the Float was outside when I got there and put him in the Strip Cage.    I headed to the Bottom Door and did the let-in at 11:30, then at 11:40 to get a visitor in the annex and take them to the inside Hospital and then helped Late Split feed PC's at 12:00.    At 12:07 the 2 wallstand officer called a fight at the Canteen area.    Several officers, Sergeant's and Lt responded to it and had to figure out who the fighters were and finally got it straightened out and under control by 12:11, and we secured the PCs by 12:39.
The yard had me stay near the Front of the Loop and keep an eye on the inmates in that area and at 1:55 radioed me to get the trip in.    I took him to the strip room and removed restraints and stripped him out and he was a 3rd Floor PC, and since Lockup was in process I put the cuffs back on him and escorted him to the Count Office bench to hold him there and asked the Shift Captain when do you want me to take him to 5 cellhouse.    He said as soon as the yard is cleared and turned in keys and restraints.    When the yard cleared I radioed that I was escorting 1 PC from the annex to 5 cellhouse and let the Tower know he was coming up to the 3rd Floor.    The PC was secured by 2:20, and I went to the yard office to log my patdowns and the count cleared at 2:30.    I went out at 2:40 to go to Receivers Basement to swap out my uniforms and back to clock out at 3:00 and went home.
I picked up Ethan and later got Michael at 4:45 and dropped him off with Amy at 5:15 to go to Mayfield for class tonight.    Ethan and I got back home at 5:45 and made us grilled cheese sandwiches at 6:30.
I watched TV at 7:00 and dealt with Ethan and gave him some medicine and he went down by 7:38 and he was up again and gave him more medicine and turned the ceiling van on and he was out by 9:15.
Amy and Michael got home at 10:00 just as I was going to sleep.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2009 up at 5:45 on a day off and it is PayDay on a 41 degree morning.    Amy was already up and getting ready to go to work.    I have to drive Michael to school by 7:15 because he was selected to be on the Media Club and Ethan was up at 7:00 and we left to drop him off.    It was a foggy morning and I drove to town to get a paper and some donuts, and a powerball ticket at $170 million.    We headed home by 8:15 and Dennis had my check at his house so I went to get it and then to the Bank for a deposit.
Ethan was down for a nap at 10:15 and slept until 1:10 and we drove to pick up Michael at school at 2:25.    I read the KSP newsletter while we waited for him and it had my photo of me receiving the 5 year pin, and also showed where we had 4 officers who were terminated.    Got Michael and home by 3:10, after dropping Michael off at Dennis', who was mowing the yard.
I took Ethan out to play for a while and we went back in at 5:00.
I made mac&cheese, pork&beans, and salad with chicken in it for supper.    Amy was at home at 6:00, we ate and I cleaned up by 6:50.
Linda came by to visit.    She will be leaving tomorrow to go on a flight to Oregon, where they will be taking a cruise ship up to Canada.
I watched my shows at 8:00 and put Ethan down in his big bed, and continued watching TV until 10:00, then shaved and showered and to bed at 10:35.

On Thursday, October 1, 2009 up at 5:45 on a day off and it is 20 days from the new baby's birth.    I drove to town to get a paper and fill the tank with $2.24 a gallon gas.    The price has dropped $0.14 a gallon because of a glut and it is at $66 a barrel.
I got back at 6:10 and Ethan was up and checked my email and lottery ticket, and it was up to $193 million now.
Amy showered and I made breakfast and got Michael up to go to school.    Amy drove him to school at 7:40 and I cleaned up Ethan and the dishes and let him watch his shows.    Amy was back at 8:03 and I hit the bathroom and she had to change his poopy diaper.
Amy has a 9:30 OB appointment this morning and then from 11-3 at Michael's school for a study session for her education classes.
I put Ethan down at 9:00 for his nap and she left.    Ethan was up at 12:40, and changed him and gave him some milk.    He was being very ill, and put some cartoons on PBS for him to watch.    I called in my post at 1:55 and still in 3 cellhouse.
I took Ethan out to play at 2:40 and back in at 3:30 and vacuumed the floors and washed dishes and fed Ethan.    Amy came home with groceries and put them away.    She made lasagna and salad for supper and then gave Ethan a bath at 7:00.    I got my uniform ready and watched TV from 7-9, Ethan down at 8:30 and I shaved and showered at 9:00 and to bed at 9:30 and out by 10:08.

Article 10/2/2009 - Federal judge dismisses challenge to Kentucky lethal injections.
This affects death row inmate Gregory Wilson.

OFFICER FROGGY COMMITTED SUICIDE
On Friday, October 2, 2009 up at 3:50 and I remember that I need to call my mother today on her birthday and at KSP with 1 call-in on Yard Patrol.    I found out today that officer "Froggy" had committed suicide by gunshot.    So we are Frogless.    I will find out more about that when I can.    If you don't remember Froggy was a short white male in his twenties who had been in a car accident that messed up his throat area and could only speak with a raspy frog like voice.    I always said that every time something happened around here that Froggy seemed to be in the middle of it.    It was like he had a black cloud following him around.    He once asked me, "Are you writing about me in my book."    I said, "I have a whole chapter on you Froggy."    He said, "Are you going to use my name?"    I said, "No I will just call you Froggy, so nobody will know who I am writing about."
In 3 cellhouse and on 11/12 Left and they had to pull an officer in 3 cellhouse to go to 3 wallstand for a call-in.    On post at 7:03, and did the routine 20/16=36 by 7:15.    Then on to doing rec, phone calls, security checks, and next rec group, phone calls and slots unlocked by 9:40.
Things were rolling right along and then the Photo ID officer came and I had to hook up 4 inmates to get them out for their mug shots and then Medical rounds all done by 9:55.
Could not get chow on the walks until 10:30, served by 10:47 and ate my tray and got trays off at 11:08 and I had to move my janitor in 12L-17 to 13 Right at 11:14 and did that and now at 20/15=35, and did two phone calls at 11:48 and I found out they have transfers coming in today and hopefully after I leave.
Of course the Lower Cage called with the names of transfers going into 12L-14,16,18 when they get here.    And at 12:32 I heard a transportation officer radio to the Control Center 5 minutes out with 3.    So I got the Entry/Exits forms and cells checked and done and 3 activity sheets and the Laundry man got their state stuff ready.
Then IA wanted 11L-5 out to the office and did that at 12:55 and the transfers were escorted to the inside Hospital to be debugged and I found out they are coming from the Farm.    At 1:24 they were escorted to the yard office for new ID's, and I secured my walkman and also 11L-5 at 1:51, and they only brought the one transfer in 12L-16 at 1:53 and my count was 20/16=36 on the count slip as the other two will be held by Property for Lockup.    Did the closing routine and was relieved.
    I got home by 3:50.
I called my mother and wished her a happy birthday.    She told me that dad is doing okay at the home, but keeps asking her to come tomorrow and drive him to Louisville.
I went out to mow the yard at 4:35 and it was 63 degrees and windy, and finished at 5:53 and I rested and watched the 6:00 news.    Amy and Ethan are not home yet and got here at 6:20 and went to shave and shower.
I made myself a sandwich for supper and Ethan was ready to go down by 7:45 and I watched a new show called Stargate Universe from 8-10 and was asleep by 10:10.

THE ROSTER SCHEDULE THAT WAS TOTALLY MESSED UP AND ENDED UP WITH AN AMBULANCE IN TO TAKE OUT AN INMATE
On Saturday, October 3, 2009 up at 4:10 and left on the roster as being in the inside Hospital, and I had found out before I left that inmate Yardtax was there now and they are talking about shipping him to another prison, and I was going to watch the UK-Alab game on NBC at 11:00.    I went in KSP at 6:25 and discovered that I was no longer on the inside Hospital but was on 6 wallstand.    That damn Captain changed it after I left or did not post it until later.    So I left and drove to the Minit Mart and got some food and returned to the 6 wallstand parking spot at 6:50.
So I got out of the car to go up to 6 wallstand and a female officer who usually works 6 wallstand walked up to it at the same time.    I yelled up to the officer in 6 wallstand to call the Shift Captain to find out where we are supposed to be.    He came back in a few minutes and said that she was on 1 wallstand.
So I was on post at 7:00.    I have not been on 6 wallstand in over a year and they had 2 call-ins today.
I know the routine for this post and got the Sally Port opened and did the inventories, and Trash Truck processed in at 7:46 and GP Let-in at 7:54, and a bird flew into the wallstand and I took a broom and helped it find a window to fly out.
It was an uneventful morning and chow went to the cellhouses at 9:57 and GP Let-out at 9:59 and the yard got busy again.    The Trash Truck made rounds on the yard and the Kitchen opened to GPs at 11:00, ice line at 11:50, PC's to chow at 12:04 and GP Let-in/out at 12:15.
Earlier at 12:21 the kitchen officer radioed Medical for a kitchen worker complaining of chest pains and they sent for a wheelchair because he kept falling out.    But officer Redifordisablity got him on the gator and drove him to the inside Hospital.
At 12:40 the Shift Captain was informed by a Sergeant that the kitchen worker needs to be taken to an outside hospital.
The Shift Captain radioed a certain officer to go get a extra large jumpsuit and restraints and said he and the Sergeant would be going out on that trip.
The Control Center was on the radio saying an ambulance is on its way and would be coming through 6 wallstand in 5 to 6 minutes.    I called the Sally Port officer to come on in the Sally Port.    I could see the ambulance coming down the hill and radioed the Shift Captain for permission for the ambulance to enter the Sally Port and then processed it through by 12:54.    The chase car was already sitting outside waiting at 1:00.
They got the inmate in the ambulance at 1:12 and we processed it out of the Sally Port by 1:15 and I informed the Captain and Control Center.
Things have settled down and I was sitting and I looked at the monitor for the camera on the 1st Floor roof of 5 cellhouse and a huge spider just crawled across the monitor and it was creepy since it looked like it was on the wall where all the inmate windows are.
They started the GP Ice Line and I called the Weight Room and the score was Alabama 38 UK 20 with 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter.    The yard Lt is calling the two officers involved with the medical emergency for their information reports.
I called the Front Gate and he said I was still on Kitchen Security 3-11.
GP Lockup at 2:14, cleared the yard at 2:18, and Signal-14 cleared at 2:30 and got the Trash Truck out and closed the Sally Port by 2:33.
I got relieved and home with rest and relaxation in mind and early bed if possible.

On Sunday, October 4, 2009 up at 1:10 a.m. at 45 degrees and a high of 68, and the clouds were coming in with the full moon shining brightly and I left at 2:00 and at KSP at 2:45, the inmate from yesterday stayed at WBH and the Shift Captain Lieutenant Holeytimber scheduled himself for it and officer Livesclosetome, which figures and I am on Kitchen 3-11.
Opened the Kitchen at 3:00, turned the lights on, made rounds and went to the cage to inventory the tools, and got line 1 tray line utensils and straps ready by 3:19.
I am waiting for the kitchen workers and the gator was already here so I did not have to go get it.    The Back Door officer came in early and there was supposed to be 25 but I only counted 23 come in.    So we did a stand up count of 24 kitchen workers that came in at 3:48, and the Back Door officer called the count in at 4:10.
It was accepted so I got the tools out at 4:15 for the Kosher cage.    They are making coffee cake today.
PC's in at 5:15 and I took chow to 3 cellhouse at 5:16, then to 6 cellhouse at 5:27, and the Hospital.    They now have a gate to unlock to go down to the 5 wallstand Wall gate and drove chow to 7 cellhouse by 5:34.
I drove the gator back and left it outside of 6 cellhouse so they could load it and went back to the Kitchen and the gator was ready by 6:01 and went to the hospital and then 7 cellhouse to load up by 6:10 and drove the gator back to be unloaded.    I walked to 3 cellhouse and drove the Food Truck back at 6:20.
GPs were in at 6:25 and out by 7:10, and went on break at 7:15 to divulge some coffee cake and coffee.
Went to get the annex trays at 7:45, and then accounted for all tools, utensils and straps by 8:32 and cleared the tools.
Then set up utensils, straps for the Tray Line, then did the Kosher inventory and set up, and inventoried the Tray Room equipment at 10:00 and turned the keys over to my relief.
I am still working in the Kitchen but got me a tray and had some lunch and left to clock out at 11:00.
The Shift Captain was not in his office and I could not find out my post, and I was told by someone that the inmate may be at WBH for 7-10 days.    Left and got a Sunday paper and made it home by 11:45.    Ethan was up and I went to lay down at 12:30 and slept until 4:00.
I got up and had a coffee, and picked up the strewed toys, washed the dishes, burned the trash and watched Ethan play in the backyard until 5:30 when it started sprinkling rain.    I called my post and it was still Kitchen Security 3-11.
I drove the solid trash to Dennis' house and came back to have supper and we cleaned up by 7:00, and I gave Ethan a shower with me by 7:30.    He went down to sleep at 8:00, and I watched TV until I fell asleep.

On Monday, October 5, 2009 up at 1:10 a.m. and on my way to KSP I ran over an opossum and dodged 3 group of deer and at KSP at 2:45 and opened the Kitchen at 2:52 and did the usual routine and called the kitchen is ready at 3:20, and 23 kitchen workers came in at 3:25 and called the count in.
Set up the lines and kitchen workers by 3:50, and called the 4:00 count since the Back Door officer has not shown up yet.    He finally came at 4:07.
    Chow to 3 C/H at 4:45, 6 C/H-Hosp at 4:58 and 7 C/H at 5:05 and PC's in at 5:08.
Got all trays back from the cellhouses by 6:00, and PI in the kitchen at 6:05, and there was a call-in on 2 wallstand as I heard a 2nd Early being told to go there at 7:00.
GP's in at 6:40 and out at 7:18 and on break at 7:20 and trays from the annex at 7:40.
Accounted for straps, tools and utensils by 7:50 and cleared the tools at 8:45, then set up the Tray Line, PI utensils and the Kosher cage and took a break.
Chow to 6, Hospital, PI and 7 cellhouse by 9:55.    Inventoried the Tray Room at 10:00, and escorted the annex trays and 3 C/H by 10:08.    And they forgot to put the Nacho Chips on the truck so I walked back to the Kitchen and grab four containers of chips and walked them back over.
I sat and had another meal at 10:30, and left after that to go up and talk to the Shift Captain.    I asked him if I am still on outside rec on Tuesday.    He said yes.    He asked me where do I live.    I told him.    That was about me being on hospital duty next week.    The inmate just had surgery and will be at WBH another 7-10 days.
I clocked out and went to get a paper and made it home by 11:50, and went to bed by 1:00.    I slept until 4:20 and made a coffee and tried to get out of my slump.
Michael came home at 5:25, and Amy with Ethan at 5:45.    Amy made grilled cheese sandwiches for supper, and cleaned up, and changed Ethan and dressed him in warm jammies since the temp will go down to 49 degrees tonight by 6:49.
I watched TV at 7:00 and put Ethan down at 8:20, shave and showered by 9:00 and passed out at 9:30.

ON ANOTHER TRANSPORTATION TRIP WITH A DEATH ROW INMATE TO WBH
On Tuesday, October 6, 2009 up at 3:30 and caught up on some sleep and left at 4:45 and it started to sprinkle rain and there was lightning all around me.    It began raining hard on my way and poured down as I got to Exit 45, but slowed down by 6:05 when I got to the parking lot at KSP.    Went in and there were 3 call-ins, 4 Walk, Yard Desk, 1st Early, and no other officer on 3 cellhouse outside rec with me.
To 3 cellhouse and the Lt had talked with the UA and they cancelled O/S rec due to staff shortage.    I was sent to the Captain's office and he sent me to the yard.    I made it to the Yard Office at 7:15 and they had put a 2nd Early female officer on the Yard Desk and I donned my raincoat and hat since I was scheduled to ring the bell at GP Lockup, which I did at 7:40.    I was securing the Kitchen gate when the yard radioed me to go to the inside Hospital as a second officer for seg inmate pill call.
I was just getting to the door of the Hospital when another officer radioed me to go up front for a trip.
I went to the annex it was officer Bull and they sent another officer to the inside Hospital and brought me up for the trip.
Lieutenant Layindown was coming through the gate with restraints and gave them to officer Bull to go get death row inmate David Skaggs.    He then gave me the keys, cellphone and 2 pepper sprays.    He went to get the trip ticket and sign off on the information for the trip.
I went out of the Front Gate and walked to the Motor Pool to get state car #1465.    Got it and drove it to 1 wallstand and got two revolvers, 4 speed loaders and two vests, and then to the car to load the weapons and radioed officer Bull the car is ready.
Lieutenant Layindown had gotten the shotgun and chase state car, which is required for death row inmates.
We left KSP at 8:10 and I drove in a light drizzle, and drove at 80 mph to Paducah and Western Baptist to the Imagining Center for a 9:00 appointment.
I made it to Exit 7 at 8:48 and on Channel 2 officer Bull asked Lt Layindown, "If we could stop at the titty bar?"    Lieutenant Layindown replied, "I thought they closed it down."    I replied, "The Cabaret is still open on southside.    If Christine is still there she might give us a discount."
I made it to the WBH parking lot at the Imaging Center at 9:00 and we went in, and checked in, and were directed to a room where they put an IV line in the inmate's vein.
At that point we waited until they got him in the CAT SCAN.    It began raining extremely hard outside.    They finally did what we came here for, and we were out by 9:47 and headed to the Burger King at Exit 7 and drive through for some food.    Then started our drive back to KSP and it was raining pretty hard and I did 70-75 mph all the way.
At Exit 45 to the Chevron to fill up the cars.    Then pulled into KSP at 11:10 and got all the gear and weapons from officer Bull who move the inmate back in.    I put on my raincoat and hat and returned all the weapons, ammo and vests to 1 wallstand.
I drove to the Motor Pool and logged and checked it, secured and returned to the Front Gate where officer Bull handed me the restraints and I gave him the keys and pepper sprays to turn in, and I dropped the restraints off to 1 wallstand.
Back in KSP and to the yard by 11:28 and I was sent to the Laundry to relieve the officer for the rest of the day at 11:30.    That was a good deal because it is still raining hard and it is dry in here.
Its an easy post and I just watched the inmates come in to get their supplies with workers who hand it out and log it.
At 12:50 they brought 4 transfer inmates from Eastern in here and their clothes were already done.    I heard that 4 inmates were going out to Eastern and one of them is inmate Yardtax.
At 1:10 the rain stopped, and the Shower officer called to see if the towels were ready and told him it would be 30-40 minutes.    I cleared the Laundry at 1:55 and all out by 2:07, accounted for all tools and equipment and secured and turned power off.
Lockup came at 2:15, and closed and secured the Laundry and went to the Yard Office until we got a Signal-14 cleared.    Then to the Front Gate to help out and headed home for some days off by 3:35.    I am scheduled for O/S rec on Friday, inside Hospital on Saturday.
I was alone until Michael came home at 5:00, Amy and Ethan came at 6:20 and I had made scrambled eggs, green beans and salad and we ate and cleaned up by 7:00.
I sat and watched "NCIS" and after changing two big poopy diapers I put Ethan down for the night at 9:20 and I went to bed and out by 9:30 from exhaustion.

Article 10/7/2009 - Prosecutors review death row inmate's case after appeal fails.
This affects death row inmate Gregory Wilson.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2009 up at 5:00 on a day off and made some coffee and watched the news.    Outside I could see the skies were clear enough that I could see the bow of the constellation of Orion even with the full moon shining.    Amy was up at 5:30 and this is my day to drive Michael to school, and Ethan was up at 6:00, and Amy left at 6:30.
Then came the rush to get Michael to school by 7:15 and then I stopped at the Post Office to mail off a bill, then drove to town to get a paper and donuts, and returned home by 8:15.
We enjoyed our donuts and Ethan was down again by 9:15, and I got the stuff I needed to do done, and shaved and showered by 11:30.
At 11:50 KSP called and transferred me to Captain Reverzpycology who asked if I wanted to work at WBH on Friday.    Of course I said yes.
Ethan woke up at 1:15 and changed him and gave him some milk, and started cutting up potatoes and onions to cooked down with some polish sausage and hardboiled eggs later.    I gave Ethan his big chocolate chip cookie and dressed him.
We left at 2:15 to go to the school to pickup Michael.    On our way on Highway 60 a semi-truck with a mobile home on its bed was blocking the road.    I guessed it was trying to back up into a lot.    Traffic was backed up.    I happened to be close enough to the road to my right at the Post Office and it allowed me to drive around that and back on the highway and at the school at 2:32.    Michael came out and we got back home at 3:10 after dropping Michael off with Dennis.    Ethan is watching his shows and Dennis brought Michael home at 5:00.    I started cooking down the potato and onions, and sliced in the sausage and egg and it was ready by 5:40.    Amy got home at 5:55 and we had supper for an excellent meal and cleaned up by 6:50.    Amy left to go get some milk at the store.    I settled in for the night to watch TV and Ethan went down at 8:15, and I went to bed at 10:00.
Amy woke me at 3:00 and said she has been up with Ethan for two hours.    So I grabbed him and put him in bed with me and he was out in 5 minutes.

On Thursday, October 8, 2009 up at 5:00 on a day off and I drove to town at 5:30 to get a paper and back at 6:00, and no one was up yet.    Amy was up at 6:30, and will be taking Michael to school, and Ethan was up at 7:05 and as ill as he could be.    It was the usual melee to get Michael off to school and they left at 7:35.
I fed Ethan some toast and jelly and Amy called and said she is bringing us some McDonald's breakfast home.    She did and I ate, then vacuumed the entire house before she left to go to Western Baptist for a preschool study.
Ethan went down at 9:15 and it began to rain hard off and on until Ethan was awake at 11:15.
I fed him some lunch at 1:00, cleaned up the dishes, put some clothes on him, and got my uniform ready.
I called my post at 1:55 and I was at Western Baptist with officer Livesclosetome and the inmate was in ICU-6.    I asked the Front Gate officer what I was on Saturday and he came back with 4 cellhouse Walk.    That was because Lieutenant Holeytimber penciled himself on hospital duty again with officer Livesclosetome.
I got the solid trash ready and decided to drop it off at Dennis' and take a drive with Ethan.    He fell asleep in the car, and when I came back at 3:05, he woke up.
Amy was on her way home from an OB appointment and got here at 3:45 with groceries for supper.    It began raining again for a while.    We ate and I cleaned up by 7:10, and I watched shows from 7-9 and Ethan had gone down at 8:00 and I shaved and showered by 9:15 and was out by 10:00.

ON OUTSIDE HOSPITAL DUTY AGAIN AND THE CHANGE IN WBH'S SMOKING AREA LOCATION AND NEW INFORMATION ABOUT OFFICER POWERTRIP
On Friday, October 9, 2009 up at 3:50 and in no hurry, and we had a huge rain last night and 100% chance of it this morning.    I left home at 5:30 to get a paper and some donuts and to WBH parking lot to read it.
Went up to ICU-6 at 6:40 and relieved Dennis.    We are with the inmate [name withheld] who had the medical emergency in the kitchen last Saturday.    He had surgery last Thursday, which was open-heart surgery and was in an induced coma, and not in good condition.
I called the Kitchen to order our breakfast to insure what I will have to eat.    The inmate still has tubes in his throat and pads on his arms.    New to me was he was unshackled but due to medical emergency if they have to shock him he would not be grounded to the bed.
They said he would be having surgery again today.    Officer Livesclosetome was running late because his car slid off into a ditch right past the Minit Mart in Ledbetter.    He finally got here.
The heart doctor Lopez came in at 8:24 to check on the inmate, who is in a drug-induced comatose.
At 8:40 he and the CCRN performed a TTE on the inmate and were done at 8:50.    This was an Echogram to check the heart pressure.
Officer Livesclosetome called in at 9:00 to update the Shift Captain, which was Lieutenant Holeytimber.    Livesclosetome said that he was the Shift Captain today and tomorrow.
I went down to smoke and found out that they had opened the smoking areas back up.    The reason they did this is it had to do with all the patients who smoke were standing out on the front sidewalks with their IV Carts and they could not hear the paging systems to return for their procedures or test.    Good I did not have to go stand in the rain to smoke.
Breakfast came at 9:40, which is late today but we ate it anyway.
I ran into two officers who were from the Farm, who were here with an inmate with a swollen genital.    I asked one of them how officer Powertrip was doing.    He said he was on midnight shift    He had already wrecked two vans.    Also they had already busted him for sleeping on post and they had him on some kind of patrol duty.
A medical staff came in at 10:55 and the got the inmate ready for an X-ray and we left the room and it was done by 10:59.
Lunch came at 1:50 and it was Alfredo today.    We also found out today that the inmate does have some family from the Chaplain.    This inmate was one of them that came from Northpoint Training Center.
I also found out today that the female officer who was terminated for having Loratab in her possession is presently living with an KSP officer that I know who apparently recently divorced his wife.    I would have never thought that this officer would have been involved with her.
Also a certain Shift Captain that I like had his stepdaughter die from H1N1 Swine Flu.
On our last security check I found out I am still on 4 cellhouse Walk on Saturday, and I still have to go get Ethan when I was relieved at 3:00.
I got him and we were home by 3:50, and Amy said she has to work late and will not be home until 6:20.    Changed Ethan's very poopy diaper, and gave him some crackers.    I heated up some leftovers for supper at 5:30 when Amy gets home.
It is only 12 days until the C'section and a new baby boy in our life.    We have decided his name will be Evan Flynn Cornwell.    Of course my life will change drastically with very little time to myself.
Amy got home and we ate and I cleaned up by 7:10, shaved and showered by 7:35.
Amy will be going to Smithland tomorrow to sell the Geo Prism to our neighbor for $200.    We will use the money for Christmas and I watched TV from 8-10, Ethan down at 8:15 and all asleep by 10:00.

On Saturday, October 10, 2009 up at 4:10 and the rains have stopped and at KSP for a day in 4 cellhouse Walk with 3 call-ins, Yard Patrol, inside Hospital, PM Kitchen Security.    I am on the roster to be on Outside Hospital duty Sunday through Tuesday.
On post in 4 cellhouse at 7:00, count is 123, and made rounds and did security checks at 7:15 and 7:45, GP Let-in/out at 8:00.
I did rounds and LDS by 8:20, let janitors out and checked inventories.
At 8:45 checked tracks, and the 16 Walk tunnel.    I had two inmates move in at 9:00 and did E/Es, updated roster and my count is 125.    Just rounds until the GP Let-out at 10:01 and did LDS by 10:15 and no breaks today because 10 wallstand and even more called in.    I cannot understand why so many officers can call-in.
At 10:25 the yard sent an officer to go to 3 cellhouse to suit up for a Move Team in the inside Hospital.
I beat the bars at 10:45 and they had trays delivered to us today and I ate by 11:03.
At Kitchen Worker Let-in a lot of inmates came in and only one of them was a kitchen worker.
Lieutenant Holeytimber is Shift Captain today and Captain Reverzpsycology made him do it and set the roster so he cannot change it.
Did the 12:15 let-in/out and did the LDS and then the tunnels on 20, 19, 18, 17 Walks at 12:50 and done at 1:04.
I got a K/W outcount of 1 so my count should be 124, and got ready for Lockup at 2:15 and did a stand up count by 2:25 and called count in at 2:30.    The Front Gate officer said I was still on Outside Hospital Duty and count cleared at 2:45.
At 2:50 a Supervisor came in to cuff cell 005 to go out on a funeral trip, so the count for next shift is 123-2.    The supervisor was telling me besides the Move Team he had two inmates on 14 Left having inappropriate sex while on inside rec.
I was relieved and made it home by 3:40 and UK lost another football game.
I took Ethan out back to play at 4:35 until we came in at 5:10.    Amy took a message from someone who wanted to buy my online book and CD.    So I called back at 5:45 and he lived in Massachusetts and after discussing it with him he said he would order it on Monday.
Amy is giving Ethan a haircut and we got ready and left at 6:55 to drop Michael off at a friends and then we went to Cracker Barrel for supper.
We got seated at 7:24 and ate and left to go home and made a stop to visit Linda who just came back from her trip to Canada.    Well we found her in a wheelchair and may have broken something in her right foot from a fall.    I walked home and shaved and showered and watched the FLA-LSU game until I fell asleep at 10:00.

DAY ONE ON OUTSIDE HOSPITAL DUTY AGAIN
On Sunday, October 11, 2009 up at 4:30 and the clouds are gone and the stars are shining brightly on a cool morning.    I took my time getting ready and left at 5:30 to get a Sunday paper and a donut and then to the WBH parking lot to read it.
I went in at 6:45 and the inmate [name withheld] was conscious now.    Doctor Johnson says the inmate may be out of ICU in 3 days and to a room.    I was told they had to shock him yesterday so we still cannot put shackles on him due to that.
I ordered our breakfast and lunch, which came at 8:00.
A doctor Quinn came in at 8:20 to check the inmate.
Since 9:00 the nurses have been taking the inmate's doses of morphine down so they can remove the breathing apparatus out of his throat and get him to breathing on his own.    Its 11:00 now and it is still in him.
At 12:00 the inmate was becoming more conscious.
Lunch came at 1:00, and I had Cordon Bleau and the rest of the day was slow and relieved at 3:00.
I got home and checked my email and the order for the online CD- which is my 20th order this year which is around $600 minus profits for the year.    I processed the order by 4:35.    Then went to pick up Ethan at Dennis' and returned home by 4:55.
At 5:00 I burned the trash and took Ethan out to play in the backyard.    We came in at 5:35 and I changed his big poopy diaper.
We ate supper at 6:30 and I cleaned up by 7:20.    I shaved and showered by 7:40, made my bed with new sheets, and watched TV and Ethan down at 8:20 and it is 10 days until Amy's C-section, and I was asleep by 9:30.

DAY TWO ON OUTSIDE HOSPITAL DUTY AGAIN
On Monday, October 12, 2009 up at 4:10 and could not sleep in and left home at 5:30 to get a paper and as it goes went up to ICU at 6:45 so Dennis could leave so he could drive Michael to school.
Officer Preacher is with me here for the next two days.    I did the calling and let him do the logbook.    The inmate is still on the breathing apparatus, but plans are to remove it today.
The heart doctor came in today at 7:40 and by 8:05 they had removed tubes from his chest and his breathing device.    The doc said he could be out of ICU in a day or two.
Breakfast came at 8:10 and we got an extra biscuit with our gravy and eggs with bacon.
At 9:15 medical staff came in to exercise the inmate and were done at 9:30.
They kept working in breathing with him and not much other than that by 12:00.    I forgot that it is Columbus Day and the Post Office will be closed for me to mail the CD-ROM order today.
I need to go home and mow the yard today and our lunch came at 12:45 and ate and called a 1:00 update to the Shift Captain.    The inmate ate his liquid diet too fast and almost threw up.
At 1:30 they came to do Physical Therapy on the inmate and got him to sit in a chair for a while and done with him at 1:46.    Called the last security check at 2:00, and relieved at 3:00 and home by 3:30.
I mowed the yard at 3:55 and finished by 5:20, and Amy got home at 5:25 and made supper, and did showers and it was an uneventful night.

DAY THREE ON OUTSIDE HOSPITAL DUTY AGAIN
On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 up at 4:30 and it is supposed to rain today and it is eight days until the new baby comes.    I left at 5:30 to get a paper and donuts.    Went up to ICU at 6:45.    Dennis was in and he told me that he and Linda were on I-24 yesterday sitting in a traffic jam at mile marker 8, when a semi-truck came over a hill behind them and could not stop in time and ran off in the medium to miss them.    The semi rolled over and ended up blocking traffic both ways for a while.
I called KSP security check at 7:00 and ordered our meals for the day.
The inmate seems to be more stable today.
Breakfast came at 8:20 and doctor Lopez was in at 8:30 and said the inmate would be moved to a room today as soon as one comes available.
Physical Therapy came in at 8:38 to walk inmate in the ICU area and done by 8:50.
I called KSP and updated the Shift Captain, that he will be moved to the room today.    He wanted me to find out how soon the inmate could be transported to KSR.    So I managed to catch up to doctor Lopez and he said, "It could be 2 or 3 days, and would depend on where he would be sent to have his rehab done."    I told the doctor that KSR is the prison system's psychiatric-medical unit that has access to major hospitals in the Louisville area.    I told him that he is welcome to get in touch with KSP Medical supervisor regarding those specifics.    Doctor Lopez is the final decision on releasing the inmate.
At 11:00 I called the Shift Captain and informed him of my conversation with doctor Lopez as mentioned above plus they are taking the inmates IV out and in a couple of hours he will be moved to a room around 2:00.    I asked the Captain to contact Medical supervisor before going to Acting-Warden Alan Brown.    He said he would.
Lunch came at 1:00, and had roast pork, and at 1:10 the Physical Therapist came in to get the inmate up to exercise to walk him.
I found out he will be moved to room 449 between 2:00-3:00.
Updated the Control Center and Captain on the new room number at 1:40.    I went to smoke and back to call a 2:00 security check and at 2:10 I went to the 2nd Floor and walk down the halls to see the Birthing area and the rest of where I will be on the 21st.
When I came back they were giving the inmate a bath and were coming to get him to move him to room 449.
I got relieved before they came to move him.
I drove to pick up Ethan by 3:15 and made it to the Post Office at 3:30 and had to stand in a long line to mail off the Book Order at 3:46 and drove home by 4:10.    The roster has me at WBH on Friday if the inmate is still there.
At 5:20 I made supper and Amy got home at 6:10 and Ethan and I were already eating.    I took the solid trash to Dennis' house and came back to clean up the mess while Amy gave Ethan a bath.
Dennis and Linda came by to visit and I told him the room number the inmate moved to.
Amy and Michael are doing homework and I mellowed out for the night until I fell asleep at 9:17.

THE NEWS ANNOUNCED THE NEW KSP WARDEN TO BE PHIL PARKER
On Wednesday, October 14, 2009 up at 4:30 on a day off and its 7 days until baby day, and Amy has been up since 3:00.    It rained all night long and I made biscuits this morning and Amy left for work at 6:30.    Then got Michael up and ready and then Ethan at 7:00 and we left to take him to school at 7:35.    Went to town for a paper and then to get milk.    I came home and made us fried eggs with biscuits by 8:45.
Ethan went back down at 9:45 and the rain finally stopped for now.
I updated my budget and balanced my bank statement and updated medical bills and insurance statement before Ethan was back up at 12:00.    I did my Open Enrollment for Humana's Flexible Spending Account for Health Insurance coverage.
Fed Ethan baked beans and pears and cleaned up the dishes.    Vacuumed the floors and washed the front porch, and a wall where some kids started a Halloween early by throwing about 3 eggs at the house last night.
The news announced that Phil Parker as the new warden at KSP today.    So we have to learn the new ones ways.    He will be my third warden since I have worked at KSP.
I left at 2:15 with Ethan to go to the Post Office to mail a bill, then to Michael's school by 2:30 to get in line to pick him up.
We were back home by 3:10.    I got some baked potatoes ready and in the oven by 3:30 and cut up stuff for salad and green beans for Ethan.    Ethan played hard and made a mess.    Amy was home at 5:25 and we had supper and I cleaned up by 6:00.
Amy left with Ethan to visit the grandparents and I shaved and showered by 7:00, and got things together for my trip tomorrow.
Then watched TV and Ethan down at 8:15, and I was out by 10:00 [I have been dreaming every night this week and remembering them.    I never remember my dreams.    I think it is the stress from knowing that a baby is coming next Wednesday.]

A TRIP TO FRANKLIN TO VISIT MY FATHER WHO HAS RECENTLY BEEN ADMITTED TO A NURSING HOME
THEY GAVE THE NETWORK ANALYST I JOB TO A SERGEANT WHO ONLY HAS AN ELECTRONIC BACKGROUND NOT A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
On Thursday, October 15, 2009 up at 4:00 on a day off and got ready for my trip to Franklin to go to my parents' house to see if my mother needs anything or help with anything.    Ethan will be going with me and I plan on visiting my father at the nursing home to see how he is doing.
Amy is off today and Michael has no school today.
I left as soon as I got everything loaded in the car and it was raining hard this morning and filling up the ditches.    Amy went to Wal-Mart to get Ethan some clothes to wear for the trip and I was already to go by 6:00.    We had some breakfast and we left at 7:40 and I mailed the Water Bill, filled the tank at $2.41 a gallon, got a paper and we left town at 8:00 to go to KSP.
At KSP at 8:35 and in with Ethan to get my check and let everyone in Personnel see Ethan and left at 9:00 to go to the Bank for a deposit.    I was told by the Network Analyst II person that the Network Analyst I job was filled by the Outside Motor Pool Sergeant TS who only had experience with electronics, so that means a Sergeant position opened up.    So my prediction that they could not get a qualified network administrator to do it for $33K a year is still true to the management.    I told him that I told them to pull my application because I would not work that for a minimum of 48K a year and that you will most likely not find anyone who is qualified to work it for that.
At 9:10 I left for the drive to Franklin and Ethan was asleep by 9:30 and I made to the parents house by 11:00.    Ethan was being shy for a while but finally warmed up to my mother or mema.    We left to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch and seated by 12:00.    We ate and enjoyed the meal.    Amy called and said the Geo Prism was sold for $200 and the buyer paid for the $34 transfer fee.
We left to go to the Nursing Home to visit my father and went in by 1:00.    He seemed to be okay and I had no concerns and Ethan got to see his pepa.    We left at 2:00 and went to get some milk at the market.
Returned to the house at 2:30 and Aunt Ruby came by to visit.    My mother gave us $100 to buy what we need for the new baby.
I put Ethan down for a nap on the couch and when he was out I went to vacuum out my dad's car which was just dust filled for my mother to drive and checked the fluid levels and put a quart of oil in it, it was last serviced in November 2008.    I drove it to see if it performed okay and it was fine.
My brother Bob came by to visit mom and Ethan was awake while he was here.
I packed up everything and changed Ethan's 2nd poopy diaper and we said our goodbyes and I left at 5:30.    We stopped at McDonalds in Russellville for a meal and then left for home at 6:00.
I made it home by 8:15 and Amy had gone grocery shopping and I unloaded the car and got Ethan out to play.
Amy got back at 8:30 and unloaded groceries.    Amy said she was hooked up to a fetal monitor for 30 minutes today trying to find the baby's heartbeat.    They finally did.    I got Ethan ready for bed and put him down at 9:00 and I shaved and showered by 9:20, and stayed up until 10:50.

DAY FOUR ON OUTSIDE HOSPITAL DUTY AGAIN AND THE INMATE WAS TRANSPORTED BACK TO KSP
On Friday, October 16, 2009 up at 4:30 and left at 5:30 and got a snack and a paper and went to WBH at 6:45 to room 449.
I relieved Dennis who said he, Linda and Michael are leaving today to go to Atlanta, officer Triedtobegood was with me today, and doctor Lopez was in early at 7:13 to see the inmate and said he would be released today.
The inmate was more conscious now and he was saying he wants to thank the officer that drove me on the gator to the inside Hospital for saving my life.    I had to tell him the truth.    I said officer Redifordisability who was the Kitchen officer did not rush you there to save you.    He put you on the gator and got you over there as fast as he could because he did not want to have to do CPR on you.    Officer Triedtobegood got a laugh out of that one.
I updated the Shift Captain at 8:00 and reminded him that the inmate would need a jumpsuit when transported.
Breakfast came at 7:50 and the usual and I ordered our lunch anyway.
At 9:10 we learned that the paperwork for release has started, and the inmates IV was removed, and he was given a shower.
At 10:00 we called in our security check.    And talked with the Shift Captain who was already sending a transport and told the officer on the phone for us to come back to KSP.
The transport came and we were relieved at 10:15 and I decided not to go back to KSP.    I went to the ATM and got $140 out for grocery money.    Then to Ledbetter to cash the $100 check, then to get some gasoline.
I went home and I decided to file for 4.75 hours of COMP instead of going to KSP.    Checked the mailbox, and worked on some website files.    Left at 1:00 to go to town and get an oil change to the Corsica and had them look at a loose strap on the muffler.     I called Amy about when to pick up Ethan and I called KSP at 1:35 for my post and I am on 1&2 Control 6:45-2:45 on Saturday which is the third Saturday in the month so it will be only for SSU visits.    The oil change and muffler fix was done by 1:45 and only cost me $32.25.
I drove to get Ethan from DayCare at 2:55, and made it home by 3:20.    I noticed that gas went this morning from $2.41 to $2.54 a gallon and it had gone up to $75 a barrel.
Ethan played and made a big mess.    I finished uploading files to my website.    Amy called and said she would be home in 15 minutes with groceries and food for us.    I unloaded it when she got here and put it away and we had sandwiches and chips and afterward went out to burn the trash.
I shaved and showered by 7:30, fed the dogs and cats and settled in for the night and watched TV, Ethan down at 9:00 and after Amy stressed me out over silly crap and I fell asleep by 9:30.

On Saturday, October 17, 2009 up at 4:10 and at KSP at 6:20 and they had 3 call-ins, 2 in visits, 1 in 7 cellhouse.    I am on the Outside Dorm on Sunday, Special Assignment on Monday with a trip for an SSU inmate.
I got the 7 keys for 1&2 Control and filled out a COMP slip for yesterday.    They sent 1st Early female officer and a new male recruit to work Visits.    I opened up the Control and opened the gates to visits and turned the lights on, so that female Sergeant Biteyourhedoff could get in.    The new recruit was a no show and the yard lost a 2nd Early to come to visits.    Sent the float out to unlock the visit gates to the yard and outside by 7:15.
At 7:24 3 cellhouse radioed me for the mini-gym so I climbed the spiral staircase to get the 8 seg inmates in the mini-gym by 7:30, as the Visitation janitor came in.
We got some visitors in by 7:56 and seated by 8:08 the yard was short so it took a while to get the SSU escorted over by 8:14, and it was John Mills, Randy Haight and James Hunt.    I cleared the mini-gym at 8:30 and that was all for the day.
I found out they released the inmate at 10:30 at WBH and the transport officer drove him to KSR and did not get back until 7:00 p.m.
I made myself a coffee and we had 2 more visitors come in at 8:42.    At 8:52 the brought John Garland to visits.
The no show officer came in at 9:05 to relieved the 2nd Early officer.
I called the Outside Dorm officer to find out what I do tomorrow.    He said I do not have to clock in or out, call the Shift Captain that you are on post, do a count at 7, 9, 11 and 2 and only call the count in at 2:15 and should get a tray for lunch.
At 9:23 two more visitors came in and by 9:28 SSU Fred Furnish was brought in.
At 9:42 4 visitors came in, and at 9:49 SSU Wheeler was in.
6 SSU in today and its almost 10:00 to close visits from incoming.    The janitor was stripped out and released to the yard at 10:22.
I was relieved for a break at 10:48 and went to the Kitchen and had Chili Mac, slaw, cornbread, veggies and a cookie.    It was a big difference from the food I was eating at WBH.
I returned to the Control at 11:10 and an Attorney was brought into visits at 11:14 and soon after SSU Greg Wilson was in to see that attorney since he is up for losing all his appeals.
At 11:25 the Shift Captain radioed for a Sergeant of Special Security to come see him, and at 11:27 he radioed Medical who was on their way to Hospital.    The janitor came back in and he was the one who does pictures for Visitors and he was out by 11:55.
At 12:00 the Shift Captain called for Medical again.    They told one of the Late Split to relieve the Tower for the rest of the day, and a Yard Patrol was sent to help them feed PC's.
By 12:38 John Garland and Wheeler were escorted back to SSU.
I talked with a Lieutenant who was here when Phil Parker was Warden before.    He told me that Parker will change things when he takes over, he will back the officers that work here.
Someone told me that a female officer who was new here has already quit.
While I was gone, an inmate had his throat cut, in a lover's quarrel, but it turned out it was self-inflicted.
Our 1st Early female officer left at 12:52 for her day was over.    At 1:07 Greg Wilson was ready to go back to SSU and he said on his way out that they miss me on death row.
Late Split came in at 1:30 to do strip outs when visits clear at 1:45 and they did and our gates were secured by 1:53 and lockup at 2:15 and count cleared at 2:25 and closed and went up front to turn in keys and equipment and still on the post I saw earlier but on 6 Walk on Tuesday.
I got home by 3:28 and Ethan was asleep but was up by 4:15.
We went shopping at Wal-Mart and then went to #1 China Buffet at 6:00 and soon we may not be able to go out to eat with a new baby.
We got home by 7:10 and I unloaded the car and then listened to the UK-Auburn game on the radio.
Ethan went down by 8:00 and Amy took a shower and then myself by 8:50, and UK won 21-14 their first SEC win of the season.    I was asleep by 10:10.

WHAT THE OUTSIDE DORM LOOKS LIKE AND WHAT GOES ON OUT THERE
On Sunday, October 18, 2009 up at 4:10 and the stars were shining brightly this morning as it was 32 degrees.    I left at 5:20 after getting the ice off my windshield and it is supposed to be a sunny day.    I got a Sunday paper and parked at KSP in the Unit Admin spot since it is a weekend at 6:15 and read the paper.    I walked down to the MSU Dorm at 6:56 to find out where everything is and it turned out I was dealing with a midnight officer who was there for his first time.    I got the Post Orders out and read them.    Then went around and did a count.    1 wallstand has one in the Water Plant and 2 wallstand has one in the Boiler Room, and I had each one tell me their names and bed number and I checked them off and some were asleep in their numbered bed so I checked them off.    So I got a count of 28 with 1 in BR and 1 at WP for a total of 30.
A description of the 30-Bed Dorm: It is a rectangular building and all the bunk beds are on the south end of the building, then up a hallway on the left is showers, sinks and commodes in booths, and continuing to your left is laundry and storage area for toxic and cleaning supplies and several washers and dryers.    To the right of that is the officers office which really nice with all the conveniences and also a bathroom.
Continuing in to the north side of the building is a breakroom with round metal tables with built in seats for meal times, and a flat screen wall mounted, and 3 huge refrigerator units, a kitchen area and 4 regular refrigerators and in the far north are telephones and a small room for musical stuff.    It has a basement with entrance from outside and has a weight room with equipment and in the far back a storage unit for clothing and other items.
I had to still do rounds every 30 minutes including outside checks, and I called the Shift Captain and checked in at 7:11.
So I had inmates go to Visits or Chapel, ordered supplies, to the Front Gate for work, did inventories and security checks.
Captain Reverzpsycology called me about being off for 2 weeks on FMLA and when does it start.    So I told him.
I called the Kitchen to see if I could get a tray.    The Aramark supervisor said the Senior Captain said they were not supposed to.    Great.    I only brought a sandwich and snack with me.    Plus I do not get relieved which I should get COMP for a half hour.
The Front Gate called and said the trays were ready at 10:05 and I had to wake up the inmate who was supposed to get them here and I gave him a key to the gator for that.    He was back at 10:10.    I got a tray anyway since 4 were in visits today and would not eat it.    They had two grilled cheese sandwiches on the tray and I thought they had made a mistake.    But that was not true and I found out that the outside inmates get double portions all the time.    Why I do not know.
The afternoon was laid back and I got to watch a NFL game on the big TV when I could.
I called the Front Gate to see if I am still on Special Assignment tomorrow and on a trip with SSU.    I was and I called the Count Office about it and was informed that it was SSU inmate David Skaggs with an 8:45 doctor appointment to see doctor Gould.    So we would have to be leaving at 7:45 for that.    There were 3 correctional officers on this trip so who is in the chase car?
I started to catch on to the schedule of me and on the last 4 Saturdays I have been put on post where I cannot clock out on overtime.    The reason for that is they cannot kill the overtime if I get it on a Saturday.    Should I hassle them over that as a violation of the labor relation board.
Count time came and I had called a count of 29 in at 2:19 and cleared and I was relieved and made it home by 3:35.
Ethan woke up and I watched him while Amy did her classwork online.    She finished and went to mail something at the Post Office.    I went to the backyard for him to play and brought him in at 5:40 due to cool weather.    Amy made supper and we ate and cleaned up by 6:50 and had a cup of coffee.
.     Michael got back from Atlanta at 7:30 and I shaved and showered and gave Ethan one too by 7:55, and he went down by 8:45.    Amy took a shower and she is about to pop, only 3 more days to go.
I went to lay down in the bed and watched TV until I fell asleep at 10:00.

ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT AND A TRANSPORTATION TRIP WITH AN INMATE AGAIN AND I LEARNED A NEW WAY TO TELL IF AN INMATE HAS AIDS
On Monday, October 19, 2009 up at 3:48 and at KSP and discovered that we are not on a trip with the SSU inmate and it was changed to a trip with a PC [name withheld] to go to a doctor appointment in Paducah to the Heartland Care at 615 N. 30th St. at 9:30.
They had 1 call-in on the 2nd Floor and I went to the yard at 7:00, and I was sent to 6 wallstand to process a work crew.    There were 7 of them and a truck, a material truck and a lift tractor for me to log and search tools and give ID's to them.    I had to get the Kitchen to move the gator and we escorted the crew to the Kitchen area and closed the gate and waited until they all got on the roof and I left them at 7:40.    Then at 7:50 I had to process the Trash Truck in the Sally Port.
The other officer radioed me and said he had our PC at the annex.    So I went up front at 8:00 and went to get the trip ticket processed.    Got my restraints and got the inmate in the annex and strip room.    He put his orange jump suit on, but could not find a matching set of orange shoes, and all were left footed.    I told the inmate to leave his socks on and I escorted him to the Count Office and sat him on the bench.    I called the 3 cellhouse Lt and asked if he could get me a size 9 pair of shoes for a trip.    They brought me size 11 and it will have to do.    The Captain signed off on the trip and we were out and on our way at 8:45.
We made it to our destination in Paducah at 9:25 and it was a building on the south end of WBH's parking area.    We checked in and sat to wait for them to call us.    They called us up and told us the Contagious Disease doctor, which I knew who she was from working at WBH, was delayed in a surgery on a young child and they did not know how long it would take.    So I called the Captain and told him the situation and told me to tell them to reschedule the appointment.    So they did and they gave me some containers of medicine, but when I looked at them it was prenatal vitamins that they give to pregnant women.    That was odd.    Why would they give that to an inmate?    Then it dawned on me the CDC doctor and prenatal vitamins must mean that the inmate has AIDS.    The vitamins are meant to keep the energy levels up.
We left there at 9:45 and stopped at the Taco Bell at Exit 7 for some food and made it back to KSP at 10:40, and I processed the inmate in and gave him to the Yard Patrol officer to strip out, and I turned in all the gear and the trip ticket to the Count Office.
I went to give the other officer the restraints to take to 1 wallstand before he comes in.    I went down to Personnel to deal with an issue, then went to the yard and went on break to the kitchen, since it was Loaded Nacho day.
After that all I did was the 12:15 Let-in and at 12:40 secured 14 PC's in school.
After Lockup and count cleared at 2:30 I processed this mornings roofing crew out of the Sally Port by 2:45.    I went to the annex and turned in my gear and the roster had me on the 2nd Floor on Tuesday instead of 6 Walk.
I made it home by 3:40 and alone until Amy got home at 6:15 who brought fast food home for supper.    We ate and then Amy did homework with Michael while I watched Ethan.
I watched TV and Ethan went down at 8:00 and I watched the re-airing of the History Channel's show "I Know What I Saw."    I shaved and showered and to bed and asleep by 10:35 with only one more day before the big day.

WE MET OUR NEW WARDEN PHIL PARKER AND I HAD TO DEAL WITH AN INMATE HAVING A SEIZURE
On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 up at 3:45 and after today I will be off work for the next two weeks away from KSP.
At KSP and had 1 call-in on 10 wallstand, and at Roll Call we were introduced to our new Warden Phil Parker, who was a Warden at KSP in the late 80's to the early 90's.    All the old timers here are telling me he will change things here.    But they did not tell me what he will change.
I was on the 2nd Floor at 7:04, count was 90, no GP Let-out yet, but did happen at 7:07, cleared at 7:11 and LDS by 7:17.    I did inventories and security checks and rounds and GP Lockup came at 7:40 and secured by 7:47, LDS done at 7:55, and janitors out at 8:03.    I got their supplies and on the walks to work, and checked the tracks by 8:15.
I got A12 and D10 ready to go to Court Call.
At 8:36 the A-B janitors told me that the inmate in B3 was having a seizure.    The same inmate had already had one at 6:35 this morning which delayed the Let-out.    I went to his cell and he was lying on the floor shaking.    I radioed the Tower to call Medical and an officer for back up.    I went to unlock the crash gate and back to the B3's cell.    At 8:45 Medical personnel arrived and Lieutenant Layindown came in.    We entered the cell and got the inmate up to sit on his bed.    He was disoriented and looked like he hit something when he fell off the bed with red marks on his left forehead.    Medical checked him out, and left him to lay on the bed and the Lieutenant asked me to get a mattress.    So I sent the janitor to get one out of the only empty cell.    Medical made a phone call to the doctor to see if the inmate should be taken to the inside Hospital.    The decision was to stay in his cell and when he felt like coming out he could come to medical.
By 8:50 all personnel were clear and I had to do an information report and hoped he did not have any more of them today.
PCs were being locked up and I was doing rounds at 10:10 and found B3 having seizures again and radioed the Tower to call Medical and back up again.    At 10:13 the yard Captain and 2 officers were in with Medical and we entered B3 again and got him to sit on the bed to be checked.    They decided to escort him to the inside Hospital at 10:20 and I removed the extra mattress.
At 10:21 Late Split relieved me and I went to the Kitchen to eat and it was tough to enjoy the taste of it with the smell of burning tar from the roof repair.
I was back at 10:45 and only had C9 in and at 10:37 B3 was admitted and did the E/E and count revision while I was beating bars by 11:15.
Property came to pack up B3 and D10 whose court call was not in his favor, so another E/E and count change, made it through GP Let-in/out and GP Lockup came at 2:14 and secured at 2:21 and standup count by 2:26, and called a count of 85 at 2:27 and Signal-14 cleared at 2:39 and relieved.
I was home by 3:45, and checked my email and started getting some things ready for Wednesday.    We have to be at WBH at 5:45 a.m., and Michael will be going with us.
I made scrambled eggs with toast for supper and Amy got home at 6:00 and we ate and cleaned up by.    I burned the trash and got the solid trash ready to go.    The fiasco started with the boys running wild while trying to get everything ready.    Amy was bitchy for about an hour.    Dennis came at 8:00 and took both boys home with him.    I took a shave and shower at 8:00 and Amy did at 8:40 and we finished packing and went to sleep at 9:30.

FMLA DAY 1: THAT MY THIRD SON WILL BE BORN
On Wednesday, October 21, 2009 up at 3:40 a.m. to get ready to leave home at 5:00 to go to WBH.    We had to be there at 5:45.    I stopped to get some gas and it was at $2.53 a gallon and had gone up to $80 a barrel.    Then stopped at the ATM for Amy to get some money out.
We made it to Western Baptist Hospital at 5:30.    We went to the 2nd Floor and down the halls to show Amy where the nursery was, and there were 3 babies out.
We went back down to registration and processed in and went to a room to prepare Amy for the birth in a bed.    The Anesthesiologist will not be here until 7:00.    So I will not suit up until then.    I called and let the grandparents know about that.
The Anesthesiologist came in at 6:50 to do his information, and said we will go in around 7:30 and start at 7:45.    I called Dennis to let him know.    Doctor "A" I call her that because it is hard to pronounce her name came in to see Amy.    They got her ready at 7:30 and I had to don the cap, mask, shoecovers and a white jumpsuit, and went with them to the delivery area, where I sat outside until 8:05.    I went in and they had me sit in a chair at Amy's head with her.    I had my camera ready for pictures.    They started at 8:10 and by 8:20 baby Evan Flynn Cornwell was born, a big baby boy.
I present to you EVAN FLYNN CORNWELL the new boss

They put him on a table and did their stuff to him and then wrapped him up and gave him to me to hold.    One of the personnel took pictures of all 3 of us together.
At 8:30 they were escorting me to the nursery.    I stopped at the visiting area so Linda, Dennis, Michael and Ethan could see him.
Then continued to the nursery to have them do their thing.    Evan was 8.93 lbs, 20 inches long, 14.5 inch head.    He was healthy and had some black hair.
Our Pediatrician came in to check him out.    I went out to let Linda and them know all that and her room number will be 267.    Amy was not out of recovery yet so I went down to car and brought all of our things to the room.    I watched Ethan for a while and took him with me to see Amy in recovery at 9:10.
I later went back to the nursery and went in and she said as soon as he gets a bath he would be at the window for viewing.
I went down for a smoke and then to the snack bar and got a sandwich and pastry by 10:00, then back to recovery to wait for Amy to get moved.    They moved her at 10:15 and carted her to room 267 and got her settled in and checked.
I called to bring the baby over from the nursery.    They did at 11:10, and all the paper work was done.    Then Amy was getting ready to breast feed at 11:40, but the baby had waited too long and fell asleep by 12:05.    So we sat and waited.
Tried again at 12:30, he is still asleep.    I went to get some hot water for a cup of coffee.    Amy had a work friend come by to visit and her lunch came.
Well the baby pooped big time on the pillow and Amy's gown and I took him for a major clean up which took a while.    Amy ate her lunch while I did that.    It was on his legs and side, and black as tar.    I took care of that and gave him back to Amy.    He began breast feeding at 1:30 and finished at 1:55.
I went down to the Snack Shop to get something to eat at 2:00, it was Pepperoni Calzone with Marianna sauce and ate it by 2:30.
Linda, Dennis and the boys were in the room at 2:40 to dote with the new baby and take pictures.
They all left at 3:30 and at 3:40 a hospital Baptist pastor came in and blessed the baby.
At 3:45 the baby pooped again and I changed him again.    At 3:50 he breast fed again until 4:00.    Then he pooped again at 4:06 and I changed him and sent him back to breast feed for a couple of minutes.
At 5:15 I realized Michael's back pack was in the car, so I left to drive it to Dennis' house to drop it off, then to our house to feed the animals and check the mail and get some things we needed.
I headed back and got some McDonald's food for supper and returned to WBH at 6:03 and the baby pooped again and I changed him at 6:30.
Amy breast fed him from 6:45 to 7:00.    At 7:30 he finally peed and they came and took him to the nursery at 8:14.    I watched my TV shows to 10, and it was a lot of interrupted sleep all night long.

FMLA DAY 2:
On Thursday, October 22, 2009 up at 5:11 and they had brought Evan back from the nursery.    I made a coffee and tried to wake up.    I left at 5:50 to go get a paper and some donuts and returned at 6:15.    Amy wanted a donut.    The paper said oil had gone up to $81 a barrel and gas will be up to $2.69 a gallon soon.    I will save a lot of gas money for two weeks.
Baby Evan has breast fed and is resting at 7:00 and at 7:30 until he pooped.    I shaved at 7:45 and at 8:00 the OB doctor came in to see Amy, and the nursery came to get Evan for the Pediatrician was coming in to do the circumcision.    I took a shower at 8:30 and feel much better.
I called KSP and let them know about the baby at 8:50, and Amy's breakfast came.    Evan was back at 9:15 from being snipped and the Pediatrician came in to for a visit.    Dennis came in with Ethan at 10:00.    The nurse came in to unhook Amy for tubes and we got her up and to the bathroom and she cleaned up and then sat in a chair by 10:30.
Dennis and Ethan left and we could not get the baby to eat.    By 11:30 we had to give him a bottle of similac.    He went to sleep and Amy pumped milk.    I left at 12:00 and went to eat in the Hospital's cafeteria.    I have worked at WBH and ate the meals here but I ordered a Grilled Chicken on rye with all the fixings, onion rings and a drink and a lemon parfait.    It cost me $9.00.    So the state was paying that much for us to eat every time an inmate was down here.    I returned to the room after a smoke at 12:50.    I said this 24 hour shift with a baby is tougher than an 8 hour shift with an inmate, as I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night.
It began raining at 1:40 and I went back to the room and went to sleep on Amy's hospital bed and slept until 3:50.
They came and got Evan to go get his shots and hearing test.    I went down to the smoking area and it was still raining.    When I came back at 4:10 Amy and I took a long walk in the halls for her.    We went to get Amy a Pepsi and when we got back to the room at 4:30 Evan was back.    Amy fed him.
Dennis, Michael and Ethan came in at 4:55, Amy is letting Michael stay overnight.    So it was kind of a ruckus for a while with Ethan into everything and Michael raising and lowering the bed.    I took Ethan for a walk in the hall.    Dennis fed the baby and Amy pumped milk.
Dennis and I left with Ethan as he will take him home to stay with Linda since he has to work at KSP tonight.    I left to go to KFC to get supper and a break from the Hospital.    I returned to the room at 7:30 and Linda was holding the baby and feeding him.    Michael was doing his usual antics of getting attention and causing havoc.    Amy finally did his homework with him.    I fed the baby for a while and Linda left at 8:30 and the nursery came to get Evan for a health check.    He only weighs 8 lbs 4 oz now.    We are feeding him similac until Amy's milk comes down.    I had the nurse to get us another chair for us to sleep on at 9:20.
I will have to drive Michael to school tomorrow and I tried to go to sleep at 10:00 but Evan had me up at 11:30, 12:30 and 1:00.    I finally went to sleep and I woke up in the chair at 3:30 in the hallway where Amy put me for snoring.    Evan was up again and it was 4:00 before I got back to sleep.

FMLA DAY 3: AFTER TAKING MICHAEL TO SCHOOL AND RETURNED THE HOSPITAL WAS READY TO RELEASE US AND STARTED THE PAPERWORK
On Friday, October 23, 2009 up at 6:00 and went out to get a paper and donuts for all of us.    I returned at 6:40 and went through the push to get Michael up and ready and to the car by 7:05 to drive to Ledbetter.    To the house to get his patch, and his lunch stuff and then to school by 7:40.
I returned to WBH by 8:15 and Amy said they are releasing her and she was packing everything up.    Her breakfast came at 8:50 and Evan was at the nursery and came back at 9:00.    They are working on the paperwork.    I began taking stuff to the car and brought back Evan's carry car seat.    Its 10:00 and we are still waiting.    So I took another load of stuff to the car.    They came and took Evan to the nursery at 10:35.
The Charge nurse came in at 10:40 to process the paperwork, and give Amy her prescriptions and instructions.    She was done at 10:50 for release.    So now we are waiting for the nursery release.
By 11:15 we were ready to go, all went down to the entrance.    I went to bring the car to the entrance, loaded all and we left at 11:30.
We stopped for a drive through at Long John Silvers for food take home and at home by 12:00.    Settled in after unloading everything and ate our meal.    I checked my emails and Amy took a shower while I fed the baby at 1:45.
Dennis and Linda came by with Ethan and we let them change the baby.    Dennis started it and Evan squirted poop all over his jeans and the bedspread and on the floor.
They left for an appointment at 2:45 and I went to shave and shower by 3:45 and then burned the trash.
Michael got off the bus and Ethan was returned to us by 4:10 and was in a foul mood.    So between Michael's fiasco with having a F on his report card and Ethan crying to the top of his lungs, Evan was the quietest of our 3 babies.    It took a while to settle the dust, and at 5:50 started making some supper.    It was Rueben sandwiches, pork&beans and sauerkraut, and when done I cleaned up by 7:00 and I was exhausted.
Linda and Dennis took the baby to their house, while Amy, Ethan and I went to Wal-Mart to get clothes for the baby and a breast pump.    We dropped Ethan off for the night with the grandparents and brought the baby home with us by 8:00.
I watched some TV and finally passed out at 9:40.

FMLA DAY 4: THE MIDNIGHT VANDALISM EVENT
On Saturday, October 24, 2009 up at 7:10 with well needed sleep, made a coffee and drove to town to get a paper and some Half&Half for Amy and about $10 in gas.    I returned at 8:30 and spent time updating my budget and caught up on newspaper cut-outs.
Amy made pancakes, so I had some and fed the baby and cleaned up the dishes.
At 11:00 my mother called about the baby and he was on the futon with me asleep.    Amy went to take a nap, and I wrote checks for bills by 1:00.
Ethan and Michael came home by 1:45 and the baby was up to be fed and changed by 2:30.
Amy felt good enough to drive to town by herself at 3:30 to go get a prescription filled.    So I am here by myself with 3 boys.    She was back by 4:25 after an hour of Ethan and Michael's racket they woke the baby up.    She started breast feeding and her milk was coming down.    He got some of it.    She went to the pump and I fed him the bottle I made.    She got 1 ounce of milk and was very happy in hopefully saving money than buying similac.
I made supper at 5:30, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and green beans.    We ate and I cleaned up and changed two monstrous poopy diapers on Ethan by 7:00.
Dennis came by to pick up both boys to stay overnight at 7:15.    So we got a little rest and relaxation and I watched college football with the baby on the futon resting.
I went to bed at 10:00.
At 11:56 Amy woke me saying someone was outside our house.    I jumped up and went to the front door, turned the outside lights on and went out.    I found broken eggs on the porch and smeared on our picture window.    Amy said she heard laughing, then boom, boom, boom and headlights out on our streets.    She was feeding the baby at the time that it happened.    I said we can call the police.    She was so mad she handed the baby to me to feed.    She grabbed her purse and a carton of eggs from the fridge and got in the car and drove off looking for vandals.
[I did not think that was a good idea because if the police were called and they stop her with a carton of eggs in the car she might become the suspect.]
I finished feeding the baby and she came back and called the police and reported the vandalism.    I went to bed at 12:30 but did not get to sleep until 1:00.

FMLA DAY 5: WE HAVE A NEW BOSS IN THE HOUSE WHICH CHANGES THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF THE FAMILY
On Sunday, October 25, 2009 up at 6:00 and Amy was up.    I drove to town to get a Sunday paper at 6:40, and back at 7:10 and read the paper and updated some things by 8:30.    I then shaved and showered by 9:00.
Amy said we have a 10:30 Lactation Consulting appointment at WBH.    So she took a shower and I made some breakfast, and Evan was still asleep and we ate and I cleaned up.
Dennis and Linda brought the boys back to go to church.    So we went through the fiasco to load all in the car and left at 9:45.    We made it to the appointment at 10:15 and were first and I sat with Ethan in the stroller and Michael in the waiting area, while Amy and Evan did the appointment.
We left at 11:00 to go to the Mall area and to eat at Logan's restaurant.    We got seated and had a good meal and left for home.    I unloaded the boys and got them to their nap times.
I went out to hose down the picture window, wall and scrubbed down the dried eggs off of them by 1:00.
At 3:20 the baby woke and was hungry and I fed him, and while I was changing his diaper... Ethan woke up and he was in a foul mood and crying about everything.    I took him out in the backyard and he continued to cry in a tantrum.    At 3:45 Amy came out with the baby and she let him hold the baby and he calmed down and played.
We went back in and Ethan was still ill, the baby in bed and so Ethan was down again.
Amy and Michael went to Wal-Mart at 4:17, and Ethan was up at 5:10 as they were getting back.
Amy made meatballs and steamed vegetables while I mixed cornbread batter, which will all be done at 6:00.
Evan woke up so I fed him a bottle and changed him.    We ate and I cleaned up all the dishes by 7:00.    I then drove the solid trash to Dennis' house and left to go to the Dollar General for gauze for Evan's circumcision.    Back home by 7:30 and had a cup of coffee, but had to change Ethan's poopy diaper.
We got Ethan and Evan to bed by 8:00, and I watched the baseball playoffs.    Everyone was in bed by 9:30 including myself, and turned the porch light on to distract egg throwers who were on an early Halloween spree.    I passed out by 10:00.

FMLA DAY 6:
On Monday, October 26, 2009 up at 3:50 and Amy wanted me to feed the baby.    So I did    He had his 3 ounces and I changed him and he was down by 4:40.
Amy was up, but went back to bed.    I left to go to town at 5:40 to get a paper and was back by 6:15.    Michael is out of school today because of PTA meetings.
I heard that a 40 year-old male inmate at KSR has died from the H1N1 Swine Flu.    Only 1,000 people in the U.S. have died from it and only 10 in Kentucky.
Ethan was stirring at 7:10, and I got him up and changed him and by 7:45 everyone was up except Evan.
I made biscuits and sausage for breakfast and we ate and cleaned up.
Evan woke up and Amy took care of him.    I lowered all the storm windows in the house and then fixed the bed slats on the bed in the baby's room.
I then went out and dug up the bush growing in our front yard ditch by 9:15.    Out in the backyard with Ethan at 9:45, while Amy went to the Dollar General.    We went back inside at 10:30 and gave Ethan a bottle and a snack and he was down by 11:00.    Amy was back and feeding and changing Evan and he was back asleep by 11:05.
I swept all the living room, dining room and kitchen floors and closed all outside house vents by 11:38.
The mail came and we got a Progressive refund of $54.81 for selling the Prism and reduced our auto insurance.    So I will cash the check and put it in our Christmas fund.
Ethan was up at 12:15, and I made myself a sandwich, then went to the Bank to cash the check.    Came back and changed Ethan's poopy diaper.    Then went outside to wash both cars in the front yard with the hose by 2:30.    Ethan and Michael went home with Dennis.    I dealt with the Asian beetles that were all over the kitchen door trying to get in due to the A/C being on.    I went to buy a bag that captures them back by 3:15 to put it out.
We left at 4:00 to go to Lourdes for Amy's Benefit Fair and Open Enrollment, then to Linda's office to let all her work see the baby and left that at 5:05 and home by 5:30.
Amy heated up leftovers for supper and the baby was choking on spit so she took care of him, and Dennis brought the two boys back and we all sat down for supper.    We finished and cleaned up while Amy gave Ethan a bath by 7:00.
I had a full day and sat to watch some TV and Ethan went down by 8:00 and I showered and called it a night at 9:40.

FMLA DAY 7: THIS NEW ADMINISTRATION HAS FORCED CHANGES IN OUR HEALTH INSURANCE AND THEY ARE NOT DONE YET
On Tuesday, October 27, 2009 up at 4:11 and Michael goes back to school today.    Amy gave me Evan to feed him, and I finished that and changed him by 4:45 and let him go to sleep on the futon besides me.    I watched the 5:00 news, checked my emails and I had another CD-ROM Book Order from Illinois, which is good because I need some money to buy some printer ink.
I put Evan in the play pen at 5:15 and processed the order by 6:00.    Then drove to town to get a paper and Wal-Mart for printer ink and returned home by 6:40.    It began raining outside and Ethan had peed on the mattress and I changed him and took care of the bed.
Michael claimed he was feeling sick and Amy let him stay home.    Since Ethan was up we got ready to go to WBH for an appointment again at 9:00 this morning.
We got everyone loaded and we left at 8:23 and parked in WBH's parking structure at 8:45 and unloaded them to go to the Lactation Consulting area again.
I pushed Ethan in the stroller around WBH while she was in there.    We left there and I drove to the Post Office to mail off the CD-ROM order and then we returned to the house by 11:00.
We made lunch and cleaned up by 11:50.
I found out from Amy that her health insurance company is adding $60 per month to her total if she has a spouse who can get their own health insurance.    I called KSP to talk to Personnel about changing from HSA to a single plan, and she provided me with the information I needed.    So we are planning that I go to the state insurance Capital Choice PPO at $29 a month and she will insure the children on her plan at a lower rate of $120 per month plus other dental, eye and cancer coverage.    If not she would have had to pay $430 per month, plus.    Thank you Democrats for screwing me out of some dental care and forcing changes to how we are covered.
Both babies were down for naps and Amy and Michael left for a drive at 12:20, and returned at 1:05 when she saw gas prices had jumped to $2.69 a gallon since 10:00 a.m. this morning.    Both babies were back up at 2:45 and I was getting cabin fever and I left to go to Paducah's Library to get away.    Looked at DVD movies and then read 3 of my favorite magazines.    I returned home by 4:10 and Ethan had misbehaved while I was gone.
Amy cooked hamburgers at 5:30 and other things and I cut up onions, tomatoes, pickles and set the table.    We ate and I cleaned up by 6:30.    Linda came over to see the baby and feed him.
I watched my show at 7:00 and Ethan was down by 8:15 and I redid my Open Enrollment to a single Capital Choice for $29 a month and the State covered around $550 of that.    So Amy will change hers tomorrow.
Watched the news and settled in for the night and out by 10:00.

FMLA DAY 8: THE ECONOMY IS GETTING WORSE EACH DAY
On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 up at 4:20 and Ethan slept through the night and at 4:50 Amy asked me if I could feed Evan since he was awake.    I made him a 3 oz bottle and fed and changed a very poopy diaper by 5:20.    He was still awake and moving his arms and legs.    I put him back in his play pen at 5:50 and went to town to get a paper and a powerball ticket, and returned home by 6:20.
It has stopped raining today and we had 10 inches of rain in October where the average is 3 inches, and they are predicting another 2 to 4 inches on Friday.
Amy had Ethan up when I got home and changed his wet diaper and gave him some cereal, and then started waking up Michael at 7:00 to drive him to school.    Evan woke during that ruckus and I dressed him for the day, as Amy left with Michael at 7:30, and she returned by 8:02.
I put Ethan down for a nap at 9:00 and made some breakfast and cleaned up.    I had to leave to go to the Post Office to mail my credit card payment off.
At 10:00 Amy's milk started coming down a week after and she was pumping milk like crazy.    I tried to type some information for a website file and Ethan was up at 11:00 and Evan up at 11:40 to feed on 3 oz. of pumped breast milk.    Amy got 6 ounces out.
Amy left with the baby at 12:23 to get a good breast pump, the consignment stores for baby clothes and to Lourdes for her health coverage issues and a 3:15 appointment with the OB doctor.
I have to go pick up Michael at school today and I let Ethan play while I finished uploading the website files.
We left at 2:08 so I could put $10 gas in the car since it was back down to $2.53 a gallon, and made it to the school at 2:25 in the front of the line.    Ethan fell asleep in the car seat.
In the mail today I received a notice from Progressive that our auto insurance cost will now be $380 instead of $408 so we saved $28 for 6 months.    I called and rescheduled mu lab on November 11th at Lourdes in lieu of IMG lab so the insurance will cover it.
I picked up Michael and home by 3:10 and Ethan was awake and gave him some milk and a snack.    I fell asleep at 4:15 to 5:00 and I guess Michael was watching Ethan since I am exhausted.
Amy came back and wanted to go to church tonight.    I fed the baby some breast milk while she pumped.    Then she was on my laptop making a presentation.    We decided to order pizza from the Minit Mart at 6:00.    I took Ethan with me to pick it up at 6:20 and before I returned gas went up to $2.65 a gallon since 2:30.
We all ate pizza and I cleaned up and Amy fed the baby.
At 7:25 I shaved and showered and at 7:45 took Ethan to bed with me while Amy does homework with Michael, and he fell asleep by 8:15 and I watched the 1st game of the World Series - Phillies and Yankees until 10:45.

FMLA DAY 9:
On Thursday, October 29, 2009 up at 5:00 on the 9th day off of my 14 days off.    Checked my powerball numbers and did not win, as it is up to $53 million now.    The weather person says we will get another 3-4 inches of rain by Friday evening.
I went to town to get a paper at 5:50 and returned at 6:15 to find Amy feeding Evan.    She said she was up with him twice last night.    Ethan is still asleep but woke up by 6:45 as I was changing Evan's diaper and clothes.
Amy went to wake Michael up who said he is still having headaches and stayed home.    I made eggs and toast for us and cleaned up the dishes by 7:50 while Amy pumped breast milk.
Our plans today is to go out and buy a better breast pump and go to consignment sales.    Amy gave Ethan a bath at 8:40 and I dressed him.    Dennis came by to burn his trash and came in to visit.    He said he is not going to work tonight so I will have to go to KSP to pick up our paychecks.
He took Ethan with him and said Michael could come over later if he wants.
Amy was in the shower and Michael was up soon after and the baby woke up so I fed him until 9:50.
We were ready and left at 10:05 and dropped Michael off at Dennis' house and off to town and stopped for gas and then drive to a place called Stone Lang Co. by 10:30.    They have all kinds of breast pumps.    We left there and went to some Consignment Sales stores and finished that with some toys and clothes.
We went to a restaurant that had buffet and we felt strange not having Ethan here throwing food and foolers.    It started raining hard as we left and made it home at 1:50.    Dennis brought Ethan home at 2:05.
I have changed two poopy diapers since he has been home.    Amy gave Evan his first bath in th ekitche sink at 3:30.
I updated my budget at 4:00 and Michael came home and soon all hell broke loose with his antics and had Amy upset and crying.    I fed the baby at 5:00 while Amy pumped breast milk.
Amy started supper at 6:00, and Linda came by at 6:20 to visit.    We ate at 7:00 and I cleaned up by 7:40.
Amy and Michael left to go to the pharmacy for a script for him, who may have a viral infection.
I got Ethan down by 8:00 and I got to sleep by 11:00.

FMLA DAY 10:
On Friday, October 30, 2009 up at 5:00 which is payday so later I will have to drive out to get it.    Amy asked me to feed Evan so I did and he drank 2 ounces then fell asleep in my arms by 5:15.    It is very windy outside with rain looming for today.    I put Evan in his play pen and went to shave and shower.
I had to feed Evan again while Amy pumped and Ethan was up soon after and I changed him and fed him and Michael had cereal.    I got his lunch bag ready and Amy left with him to go to school at 7:33.
I cleaned up Ethan's mess and then changed his poopy diaper and dressed him.    I made myself some eggs and toast and Amy came back all mad at me because I left the top on his water bottle open and it spilled out in his lunch bag.    I cleaned up and left at 8:30 and took the hard trash to Dennis' house and then drove to KSP by 9:05 and got our checks and went to the Bank and then the Post Office.    Drove to Paducah to get the last paper at 9:40, then to Ledbetter to get $140 out of the ATM for grocery money.    I went to give Dennis his check and borrowed his truck and tarp and drove to Gores at 11:00 and went to get the $55 jumper and also bought a Kitchen table with 4 chairs for a total of $164.30 total, and loaded it on the truck and tied it down under the tarp.    It began raining and I was soaked by the time I got in the truck.    It was a down pour on my way home and out running the storm and came down the street as Amy drove by me.    I could see she turned around and came back and I parked the truck into the carport.    She got out and saw what I had gotten.    She said thank you and was so sorry for being mad at me this morning.
Dennis came by to help me unload it by 11:50 and Amy left to take Michael's lunch to school.
I returned the truck and brought Ethan back with me by 12:30.    Amy made lunch and we all ate on the new table and finished at 1:10 at which point baby Evan woke up to be fed.
Amy left with Ethan at 2:15 to go to a DayCare party, and I checked my email for a well-needed Book Order.    It is still raining hard at 3:00 and some of the ditches have water 15 foot wide.
I decided to install Service Pak 2 for Windows Vista Ultimate at 3:10 and it restarted at 3:30 to install Stage 1 of 3 and went to wash dishes while I waited.
I looked through the KSP newsletter and saw that officer Usenthuronghead is a new Sergeant as of November 1st, which opens a Yard Patrol spot for weekends off.
The SP2 update was done at 3:45, only 35 minutes, and who ever said it takes hours is nuts.    Amy got back at 4:22 and went to do her pumping chore, and changed Ethan's poopy diaper.    Evan woke and I made him a bottle and fed him.
Amy left at 5:00 with Ethan to go to Dennis' house to deal with Michael who got off the bus there and said he was sick.
I watched the news, and we had a break in the rain, but more tonight.    Amy brought Ethan back and said she has to go back and clean up the mess Michael made from throwing up.    She said he is really sick and will have to come home since Linda is doing chemotherapy and her immune system is weak.
We will have to quaratine him to his bedroom until we know how contagious he is.    Amy vacuumed the floor and I straightened up the toy clutter.    She then made supper while I fed the baby.    We ate and I had to put Ethan in timeout for throwing food and then cleaned up.
I settled in to watch TV and put Ethan down and Amy left to go to Wal-Mart for grocery shopping.    It was determined that Michael has an allergic reaction to something with a rash in his waist area.
I fed the baby an ounce of milk and he knocked out on the futon, as Amy got back at 9:50 and I unloaded the groceries and all put away and off to bed by 10:15.

FMLA DAY 11: A LITTLE PRAYER TO THE LORD GOD TO PROTECT MY FAMILY FROM THE ONCOMING ECONOMIC CRISIS
On Saturday, October 31, 2009 up at 4:10 which is Halloween today which is also my Dad's birthday.    Amy wanted me to feed the baby.    So I got up to do that?    She went back to sleep but had to get up twice to get milk for Ethan.
I put Evan in his swing at 4:50 with a fooler and rocked him and had a cup of coffee.    Evan fell asleep in the swing so I covered him up.    Its 6:00 and all is quiet except for the cat fights outside.    The rain has stopped but still cloudy.
I have been praying to God to protect my family from the oncoming world economy crisis.    I am a person of great faith in God.    He usually provides what I need when I need it, not when I want it.    He has blessed me with two beautiful children at 58 years of age.    I do not know why it was to be but I am sure that eventually I will know why it was to be.
I drove to town at 6:20 to get a paper and $10 gas and a powerball ticket, and returned home at 6:45 and all babies were asleep as well as Amy.
It is 7:00 and Evan is stirring and I made him a bottle but he fell back to sleep until 7:30 at which time I changed him and fed him by 8:00.    Amy and Ethan were up and changed Ethan.    I sat down and updated my budget after yesterdays input and I am already broke.
Amy made blueberry muffins for breakfast and we ate by 10:00 and cleaned up and burned trash, and Ethan was back down for a nap at 11:00.
I had to drive to town just to get out of the house and I had to go get an item I needed.    I returned at 11:30, and Evan was up and I fed and burped him so Amy could dry her hair.    Amy was baking pizza and sweet potatoes and I was watching the baby, when the smoke detectors went off from the oven opening.    I got them stopped, but it woke Ethan up at 12:45.
Amy was trying to do her studying and Ethan was on the table so I got him off and he started crying.    Amy got mad at me and threw her homework folder at me down the hallway and was nagging me about it at 12:50.    Then threatened me of not getting any of the lunch.    I went outside to let her hormones cool off.
I went back in and shaved and showered by 1:35.    I made a coffee and she started in on me again and got a jar of salsa and threw it in the sink which broke a plate in the sink.    She continued to nag me about why I spent the money on the table when we needed it for the children.
I went to the bedroom at 1:50 and did some updates on the laptop.    Dennis and Linda came by and took Ethan and Michael with them.    I went outside to hang a bag to catch Asian beetles and then came in at 3:00.
Amy is doing her homework and leaving me alone and I watched football on TV while faxing claim forms to Humana to use $8.20 of any remaining balance of $9.73.    I laid down on the bed worn out.    The next thing I was awaken to the loud voices of Michael and Ethan at 5:16.    Amy was getting them dressed in their Halloween costumes.    I went outside and could see kids and parents already walking the streets to Trick or Treat.    Back in to make me a coffee.
Below left is Ethan exploring Evan and below right both were ready to be strolled for Halloween

So Amy got them ready and both in the dual stroller and walked down to Dennis' house to go Trick and Treating.
I walked down to their house at 6:00 and sat with them watching candy handout in the Blankenship subdivision which is a go to place for all Ledbetter residents every year on Halloween.    Ethan had his first night to comprehend Halloween.    I went in and had a couple bowls of Dennis' good chili since I had not ate anything yet.    I watched some SEC football while inside.
The time falls back an hour tonight, and Dennis gave me the $50 for the table and chairs.    We left and got the boys in bed by 9:15 and I was asleep by 11:00.

FMLA DAY 12: KSP CONTINUED TO LET ME KNOW THAT SENIORITY WAS THROWN OUT OF THE FRONT GATE BY THE DEMOCRATS
On Sunday, November 1, 2009 up at 5:00 with 6 hours of needed sleep, and checked my emails, ran a website stat report and checked powerball and it is up to $66 million.    I got in the car and had frost on the windshield and went to town to get a Sunday paper.
Everyone was still asleep when I came back and I read the paper.    Amy was up at 7:15 feeding Evan, and Ethan was up soon after and I got him a milk.    I finished feeding Evan so Amy could pump.    Then changed Ethan's poopy diaper and Amy started getting the babies ready to go to church at 9:15.
At 9:20 I got a call from KSP and it was Captain Reverzpsycology.    He asked me when I was supposed to come back to work.    I told him next Friday.    He was going to put me on Outside Hospital Duty for SSU David Skaggs but he will only be there until Wednesday.    I asked him about the Yard Patrol spot and he said that was already given to a specific officer who I have never heard of and has not been there very long.
Dennis dropped Michael off at 10:00 and Amy continued her nagging attitude at me.    Her plans to go to church were waning as the mounting tension of pumping, feeding the baby and the antics of Ethan and Michael delayed all of that.    I made myself some scrambled eggs and toast and ate and then got the trash and drove it to Dennis' house by 11:00.
She is still nagging all of us and not going to church.
I put Ethan down for a nap at 11:10 and Amy and Michael left to go shopping at 11:30.    Thank God!
Evan started crying so I fed him a bottle by 11:55 and he was out.    Amy returned at 12:30 and continued with the nagging about everything until 1:30.    I had enough of her and went outside for a while.
At 2:00 Amy was making a list of all the things she was taking to a consignment store to sell, including the table and chairs I got her and the bedside table by my bed.    I told her I would not help until she apoligizes to me and I would never buy her anything again.    She woke Ethan up nagging at me, so I sent him her way.
Dennis and Linda came by and took Ethan and Michael with them at 2:45.
I spent my time in my bedroom watching TV and updating some news articles for my 2009 website files.
Amy came and asked if I would watch the baby while she takes a walk with Ethan in the stroller?    I said No!    She went out anyway and I went to make a coffee and she had Michael watching the baby in the swing for her.
At 5:05 my brother called and said our dad had to be taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville for chest pains.    He gave me the phone number to his room.    I called him and wished him a Happy Birthday.    He seemed chipper.    I had him put my mother on the phone and she said they will not know anything until tomorrow when the test are evaluated.
This is not his first time for this.
Amy told me supper is ready at 6:00.    I went out and made a plate and sat down at the table I bought.    She nagged me to get up.    I ate anyway and then went back to my bedroom at 6:22.
I will let her see what its like to take care of everything to let her know what it is like to not have my help at all.
I watched game 4 of the World Series and Amy brought Ethan to go to bed with me at 8:33 and I put him down and I went to bed myself after finishing updates to website files at 10:00.

FMLA DAY 13: WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR WIFE GOES BERSERK AND YOU AS A SPOUSE HAS TO DEFEND YOURSELF FROM THEIR PHYSICAL ABUSE
On Monday, November 2, 2009 up at 5:40 and up to go to town to get a paper at 5:50 and returned at 6:25 and all are asleep.
I read the paper and Amy was up at 6:45 and in the shower.    She will have to get Michael up and drive him to school at 7:30 since the bus went by at 6:46.
The sun is shining brightly this morning and we will have a high of 67 degrees today.    Ethan was up at 7:20 and Amy put him in a high chair with a bowl of cereal and was out the door with Michael at 7:30, but he was back in twice for all the things he forgot, and they finally left at 7:35.    Amy still intends to get Dennis' truck today to haul stuff to a consignment store, including the table and chairs that is a $300 dining set I got for $100.    She is crazy.    While I was cleaning up Ethan's mess the baby Evan woke and was crying.    So I made him a bottle and fed him.
Amy was back at 8:05 and nagging me about Ethan not being changed and dressed.    She is complaining also about not having health insurance if she cannot pay for it, and the boys not having diapers and milk.    I made myself some breakfast at 9:45 and let Amy do the dishes.    I spent my time typing on news articles for the website.    I put Ethan down for a nap after a poopy diaper change at 10:50.
I worked on my files after that and then Amy came into the room wanting to talk.    But it turned into a full-blown fight.    I had to wrestle her out of the room and locked the door.    She kicked the door open and broke the jamb in half and the latch plate flew off.
Another fight ensued as I wrestled her again out of the room.    I may be 58 years old but I am very capable of defending myself against an attacker onslaught whether it is an inmate or even a wife who has gone berserk.    Her antics woke the baby and she went to feed him.    She tried to give him to me, but I refused which forced her to calm down and come to her senses I hoped.    My reading glasses were broken in half and I had trouble seeing what I am writing.
She put the baby down and went to get Dennis' truck and came back and loaded the stuff in it and left.    Ethan woke up at 12:30 and I tried to fix the door jamb on the bedroom door.    I then held Evan while Ethan played with his blocks.
Amy came back at 1:10 still nagging me.    I left and went to Dollar General and got a new pair of reading glasses, and returned home at 1:45, and we still had Asian beetles everywhere.    Not one of them in the bag trap.    What's up with that?
Amy at 2:00 was walking around holding her stomach.    She was in pain.    She may have lifted too much and hurt her stitching,    I felt no pity for her after two days of verbal abuse and todays physical abuse.
I went into my bedroom and ignored her.    She kept coming in to get her clothes out of the closet.
At 3:15 I took Ethan out to the backyard to play.    Picked up sticks and branches to the burn barrel.    Then Ethan helped me pick up leaves into the wheelbarrow and we hauled about 4 loads to the barrel for cinder.    I also burned that bush that I dug up last week.
I let Ethan swing and slide and we went back in at 4:00.    Michael did not get off the bus today.    I discovered that Amy took the table that I use for a night stand.    So I refused to do anything to help out and organized my bedroom and then went to shave and shower.    I made some grilled cheese sandwiches and went back in the bedroom and listened to the UK basketball exhibition game on the radio at 6:00.
At 6:05 my brother called and said that Dad's pacemaker battery was dead after 10 years.    They will be having a minor surgery to put a new one in.    He should be back in the nursing home by Wednesday.
I finished with the game and put Ethan to bed at 8:00 and watched the World Series and typed on my files until 9:40 and I fed the baby and Amy came into the room and was still nagging me several times and I finally went to sleep by 10:45.

FMLA DAY 14: IT WAS A DAY OF TALKS AND COMPROMISES
On Tuesday, November 3, 2009 up at 6:00 and Amy was up to get Michael up and I drove to town to get a paper and returned at 6:45 just as Michael was getting on the bus.    Amy started in on me again, and threw my laptop on the floor, which is not cool.
Ethan woke up at 7:00 and Amy was still nagging me and at 8:00 I vacuumed my bedroom and put stuff on the empty shelves in the closets.    Amy left to go shopping at the Dollar General and I watched the boys and finished my room at 8:50.    She returned at 8:53 and Evan was still asleep.    She nagged me again and at 9:20 I bagged up the solid trash and drove it to Dennis' house and went to get a $2 of gas for the mower and returned at 9:33.
I worked on my web files to stay out of her way.    Ethan was down for a nap at 10:30 and I watched Evan at 11:15 so Amy could take a shower.
My mother called and said that Dad's surgery was successful and she was concerned about me.    She said that I did not seem to be myself.    Its funny how mothers know something is wrong with you.    I did not tell her what is going on, just that I am tired.    What concerned me most is that I have been married 3 times and two of my ex-wifes were a severe problem, and now I am wondering if I have got another one.
I took a break from typing and watched the news at 12:00, and Ethan was stirring.
At 12:30 I was going out to mow and mulch the yard, but Evan woke up so I fed him.
Amy came back from her walk and I went out and got everything cleared and raked the leaves away from the fence.    I started mowing at 1:12 and finished at 2:30.    Amy and the babies were out in the backyard already so I hung around out there until 3:00.
Amy gave Sasha a flea bath with Ethan helping.    I went in and had a coffee.    I worked on my files again while Amy took a walk with Ethan in the stroller and I watched the baby.    When she got back I shaved and showered.
Dennis came by at 5:00 and said he is doing Outside Hospital and said Skaggs may be there to Saturday.
Captain Reverzpsycology called me at 1:30 and said I am scheduled for Outside Hospital on Friday.
Dennis took the boys with him.    Amy and I had a long talk with her about getting our marriage back together with compromises on what our issues are.    We will see.
Amy made supper at 6:00 and Linda brought the boys home and I ate by 6:30 and cleaned up by 6:50, and watched TV at 7:00 and put Ethan down at 8:05 and I was out by 10:10.

FMLA DAY 15: WE HAD A LITTLE MORE HARMONY AT THE HOME LIFE TODAY
On Wednesday, November 4, 2009 up at 5:20 and fed Evan 4 ounce bottle and Amy and Ethan were up soon after.    I left at 6:30 to go get a paper and returned at 6:50.    Amy made us BLTs for breakfast and got Michael to school at 7:30 and I cleaned up.    Our relationship seems to be better today and two days from now I go back to work.    One of the headlights on the Corsica was out and I banged my hand on it and it works now.    That means the bulb is loose, and later I will see if I can tighten it.
I tightened it up after figured out how to do it.    Then tried to caulk the front picture window but the container was so dried up it would not come out.
Ethan went down at 10:00 and I fed Evan an ounce of milk and he was out.
Amy took a shower and after she got out she started in on me again with a long talk about everything.
At 11:00 I went out to spray the outside of the house for spiders.    She had woke Ethan up with her loud voice and took him with her to go to town to get some things and fast food at 11:30, and I finished spraying by 11:35 and went to check on Evan.    He was still asleep.
Amy got back at 12:00, and we all ate lunch, and Amy is on a diet and has lost 30 pounds since the birth.    I got Ethan cleaned up and the baby woke up and was crying at 12:20 so I fed him.    At 12:40 Amy put Ethan down for a nap.    Amy talked for a while about our future until she left to pick up Michael at school and returned at 3:15.    I had her cut my hair and then shaved and showered by 4:30.    Dennis came over to visit the boys and I burned the trash at 5:00, we made supper and ate and cleaned up by 6:30.
My mother called and said dad has a new pacemaker put in and will come back tomorrow.
Dennis said that SSU inmate Skaggs will probably be released tomorrow, and I worked on my files from 7:00 to 8:00 and then uploaded photos from my cellphone to the laptop by 8:20, and Ethan was down by 8:40 and we tried to watch a DVD movie if we could stay awake and we were out at 11:00.

FMLA DAY 16:
On Thursday, November 5, 2009 up at 5:30 on my last day off, as Amy woke me to feed the baby, and 5 ounces later I did.    Ethan was up with Amy also at 6:25.    I drove Michael's patch to Linda as I went to town to get a paper and back at 6:50.
I worked on putting all my cellphone pictures in the online Family Album.    We had bagel with cream cheese for breakfast and we left to go to Lowes with the babies because Amy wanted to buy closet poles and shelves at 9:30.    I pushed the babies in Lowes Car Cart and could not get what she wanted but got new door knobs for the bathroom and bedroom.    We stopped at McDonalds to get juice boxes and cookies and then home by 10:45.
Ethan went down by 10:50 and Amy made salmon patties and salad for lunch.    Then we had time to sit and watch the movie, "Lady in the Water," in the few quiet hours we have.
At 1:00 I called KSP and SSU inmate David Skaggs was transferred to KSR and the Shift Captain said I will be in Production Industries as a third officer to watch inmates.
After the movies was over and Ethan was up I put the door knobs on both doors.    At 2:45 I went and put $20 gas at $2.58 a gallon and mailed off utilities and medical bills.
Back and made a drawing of the shelf units and made measurements, then got my uniform ready, and then vacuumed the entire house and then took Ethan outside to play at 4:00, and made supper and it was an uneventful night and out by 10:15.
