    The following is an excerpt from Volume I, Chapter Four Section "C", page 488, subject here regarding Gen. 16:3 as Abram "dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan."
Gen. 16:3 And Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after (at the end of) Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan [(Final Nun Ayin Nun Caph -- Final Tzaddi Resh Aleph) K(uh)N(ah)A(ah)N, Canaan - Heb. Kena’an, ken-ah’-an, from Heb. kana’, kaw-nah’, a primary root, properly to bend the knee, hence humiliate, vanquish, bring down, subjection, subdue, thus humiliated, Kenaan, a son of Ham, also the country inhabited by him, Canaan, merchant, traffick.

    Of interest is Luke 3:36,37 and the mention of Cainan - Gr. Kaivav, Kainan, Kah-ee-nan’, (Final Nun Nun Yod Qoph) Q(ay)N(aw)N of the Heb. Qeynan, kay-nawn’, from the same as Heb. qen, kane, contraction from Heb. qanan, kaw-nan’, a primary root, to erect, used only as denominate, to nestle, make a nest, thus a nest (as fixed) sometimes includes the nestlings, figurative of a chamber or dwelling, nest, room, thus fixed, Kenan, an antediluvian, Cainan, Kenan, the name of two patriarchs.].
